Hi, Rusty!
I'm not sure what is going on with the numbering?
On the main Forum page, it says under the PCT title that there are 30589 replies......
Yet when the thread is opened, your last post is listed as 30586 of 30586...that seems okay?
But my posts come up as the latest one at the top....
I think you have a different setting?
Anyway, so long as we keep an eye out to check who has said what and when, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
And hopefully it may right itself soon.
Yes, I remember your mentioning Joy Dunlop...a very tall lady!
Mind you, both my daughters are 5ft 10ins!
(I am the vertically challenged member of the family!)
Now, an update from Sainsbury's!
Because one of their delivery "substitutions" cost me £1-45 more than my original unavailable choice , they have sent me a voucher for that amount to go towards my next shop!
I am well impressed!

Hello, Elle!
The numbering is different depending on whether you choose "oldest" or "newest" posts "first".
And last night the main page showed your post at 22.44 as the latest post, but it was not.
I had a post after that.
Very odd!
I change my settings constantly.
I prefer "oldest" first, but when the post number ends in "0", "1" or "2", I can't read them as the only appear on "newest" format.
Then I switch to "newest" until I get past "2".
If you can follow that!
Sainsbury's are on the ball!
I wonder what their oddest substitution was?

Hi, Rusty!
I prefer "newest/ latest" at the top or first, however one terms it!
It saves scrolling through previous posts.
But "each to his own", as the saying goes.....
I have been cancelling or rearranging all my husband's appointments, for the time being.
The car was due to go in for a paint repair job next Wednesday......remember the white van that scraped the side of our stationary car?
But of course my husband cannot drive it to the garage for some time, due to the medication he is taking.
However, the boss himself kindly came over to fetch the car this morning, and will bring it back when finished.
What good service!
And I have someone coming at 3 pm to measure for a venetian blind in the kitchen. … to replace the broken one!
Oh, it's all go here!

It looks as though the message numbers have stalled at 30588, I'm sure they'll catch up soon.
I haven't posted on this thread before but thought I'd just pop in to mention Jubbly. I remember it well from the late 1950's in south east London. The drink was in a tetrahedral pack and if the sweet shop owner put the drinks in the freezer you could buy a massive ice lolly without the stick for about 4d I think the side length was about 5 inches but I was much smaller then so I may be exaggerating. I think the advertising was for Lubbly Jubbly but at school we called them lovely Jubbly. I was delighted when I heard Del's line on Only fools and horses. It recalled nice memories.

Ah, thank you for sharing your memories of lovely jubbly, with us, Harrhy!
I was but a nipper in the 1950s and living in Lancashire, and I had never heard of it.
Nor have I ever watched "Only Fools and Horses".
So I was quite lost with the crossword clue!

Update, Rusty!
The window is all measured up for the new blind.
I am going with a matte white wooden one.
It will take three weeks to make.
It should look good!

Hello, Harrhy,
Thank you for the info!
I had only ever heard Del Boy using the phrase.
Perhaps the setter was a Peckham lad!

Hello, Elle.
Very good of the garage to collect and drop off your car!
You seem pleased to have your blinds sorted out.
That's fine!
I've had a quiet day.
Not sure if my son will visit this evening.
He was back at work today, although it's a holiday up here.
I'll watch the prog on the "Wild Atlantic Way" later.

Good evening, Rusty!
You will perhaps be chatting to your son right now if he is visiting you today.....
That will be nice.
And speaking of sons, I have just been talking to mine for the past hour.
He rang again to see how his dad is doing.
He sounded tired.......the hotel has been very busy over the festive period.
But this will be his last shift there, as he starts a new job on Monday.
Well, I must go sort out our dinner.....we are having curry.
I hope you enjoy the "Wild Atlantic Way"!

Hello, Elle!
My son has gone home, now.
Had a nice chat!
And your son has a new job.
Very good!
I'll leave "Wild Atlantic Way" for another day, now.
Have a couple of things to do, for tomorrow.
