Hello, Kenyatta!
Yes, BBC Alba, at 11.30 p.m.
Hosted by Cathy Macdonald and Niall Iain Macdonald.
Happy New Year, to you, too!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just returned from a trip to the chemist, and to nearby Aldi (not a shop I much like) to buy some bread.
It is damp and somewhat foggy out.
Very miserable!
My Sainsbury's delivery went very well.
I was most impressed......both by the service proffered, and by the friendly and helpful driver.
The two "substitutions" were very sensible .....and had I been buying "in person", I should have made a similar decision were I unable to buy my first choice.
So I am very pleased!
That sounds a good idea (in the absence of Andy Stewart!) to watch a ceilidh!

Hello, Elle!
I don't mind Aldi, but they don't sell my paper, so I rarely go.
Good news about your delivery!
You will be a convert to home delivery now?
I hope the ceilidh will be fine...I'm sure it will be.
No Andy these days. I used to like him a lot!
The programme will be in Gaelic, of course.
Should be good!

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, indeed!
Why struggle with heavy and /or bulky goods, when I can have them delivered in so easy and pleasant a manner?
I forgot to say that I had later added one or two perishable food items to the order .......and was duly impressed when Sainsbury's apologised because one if these was (quote) "not as fresh as we would like" (ie the sell- by date was January 2nd)..... so I could send it back with the driver if I wished!
I thought that excellent?
You will be looking forward to the Ceilidh.....do you speak or understand Gaelic?

Good evening, Elle!
Yes, you seem to have hit on a good delivery service.

Yes, the ceilidh should be good.
No, I have a few Gaelic words, but I have a bit more of Irish, and the languages are very similar.
So, more than likely I will be visualising rather than listening!

Here's some nice Russians helping the ducks across the road!

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for the clip...how sweet!
I loved it when the Russians had to scoop up the ducklings, and redirect them when they went the wrong way!
I probably will have told you about the time we were in Kirkintilloch, attending my cousins funeral......
On the way from the kirk to the crematorium ( quite a long drive), the hearse, and the attending cars, had to stop, whilst mother duck shepherded her troop across the road!
I pictured my cousin looking down and smiling!

Hello, Elle!
The Russians seemed to have a fine old time helping the ducks!
I liked that clip!
Think most of us would help the ducks, even your late cousin.
Just read a report that Associated Press has just declared their top three female athletes of the year.
1, Simone Biles. 2, Megan Rapinoe. 3, Mikaela Shiffrin.
All Americans, and I would not agree with Megan.
Difficult to choose someone to replace her though.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, my cousin would have been the first to help the babies and their mum across the road!
I don't know Megan Rapinoe, Rusty?
What sport does she play?
Where have your granddaughters, and grandson and his girlfriend, headed off to tonight, then, to celebrate?
Our grandkids will be all tucked up safely in bed, by now!
No wanting to stay awake tonight, as they did on Christmas Eve!
( YB is convinced he saw "Santa".... but must have had a dream! )
I am not sure I shall last till midnight this year...I am struggling to keep awake!
Are you expecting to receive first-footers?

Hello, Elle!
Megan is a professional football player for Seattle Reign, and USA.
A very good one.
I know where La Bamba is heading, but not the rest.
I would not ask them, and they did not volunteer anything.
I told them to make sure they were all wrapped up warmly for the first-footing, but they just laughed!
I am recording a programme on Alba.
Think it is "Two go to Tolsta".
It's about a sister and brother who live in Hitchin, Herts.
Their mother comes from Tolsta, on the Isle of Lewis.
Gran lives at Tolsta.
Anyway, it's 1949, they run away from home after their promised holiday at Tolsta was cancelled, and head north and eventually turn up at Gran's house on Lewis.
Gran immediately telegrams the parents that the young ones are safe!
Hope it's good!
I am not aware of any first-footers.
My neighbour, the nurse, is working tonight, or she may have dropped in.
The young ones all have keys if they fancy coming to see me.
