Hello, Elle!
The price that you have chosen seems very reasonable to me.
I'll be interested to hear how your delivery turns out?
I have heard of Nectar points but I do not know what they are?

Here's a clip about "Murder, Mystery, and My Family".

Hi, Rusty!
I don't know much about Nectar points , myself!
You can sign up to get them when dealing with certain companies, I think......
Certainly Sainsbury's is one of these, so we can get Nectar points on all our shopping from there.
I have now set it up so that we can earn points with our online shopping, too...and also redeem them online if we wish.
Thank you for the clip about "Murder, Mystery, and My Family".
I had to copy and paste the link to make it work...but it was fine, then.
The several series look to have been very interesting.....
Did you follow them?
I must just pop out briefly with the dog......her routine is severely disrupted by my husband's being ill
It is already dark.....
I'll be back in a bit!

I have heard of some hilarious substitutons, nappies instead of loo paper, for instance. But those I know who do on-line grocery shopping say the time slots are almost always adhered to, or they text/ring you. Watchdog had some horror stories of fithy vans/crates but not Sainsbury ones.

I tried Sainsbury's once when they had a "come-on" offer of Prosecco if you did a first on-line shop (I chose without delivery). I had to make the order up with some other things. On collection they had none of the offer Prosecco left and had substituted full-price. I was furious (an obvious con) and told them I wasn't having any of it and I wouldn't be bothering again. And I haven't.
One year a Tesco delivery arrived at our holiday cottage with none of the chilled or frozen produce we had ordered - too late to catch the shops (this was a long way from "civilization"). The van's refrigeration had broken down that morning and had they let us know (which they could have done) we could have shopped on the way, for our dinner, for example. They could make no further deliveries for 36 hours! My daughter-in-law really let the manager have it (for not letting us know) and received all the produce we did get- including wine- free. She's generally happy with the service, though.

Hello, Elle!
So how do the Nectar points work?
What do you do with them?
I have only seen about 8 episodes of "Murder", and I liked them.
Hopefully they will be repeated and I can see all of them.
I often know about the particular case they are investigating.
I've read quite a bit about "true" murders.
Out of the 8 or so episodes I have watched, only one conviction was judged to be unsafe.
Possibly Edith Thomson's, but I cannot quite remember for sure.
The programmes are probably not for everyone, but I was very interested in them.

Hello, Rosalind!
I have heard some great tales of product substitutions, too, in the home deliveries!
Some hilarious!
I look to Elle to tell us all about how she gets on with the substitutes!

Hi rusty

Yes, I think there may well be some interesting substitutions.
You can redeem Nectar points when shopping as Sainsburys or lots of other places like Argos or Vue cinemas, holidays etc. One of my sons uses his for petrol. You also get them if you buy stuff on eBay.
I get Tesco vouchers and have used them for many things, including a trip up the Shard for 2, meals at Pizza Express (and maybe Nandos?) a trip for 5 to Woburn Safari Park (and another of those soon, though I doubt it could beat the first, when a tiger sauntered right past our car and the children actually saw a bear in the woods, doing what they do!)

Rosalind, I can understand the redeeming part of Nectar points, but how do you come by them in the first place?

rusty-
For every pound you spend at Sainsburys (I think, I don't shop there) you get 1 nectar point. You also get one for every £ on eBay, Argos, Debenhams etc. You can get a card onto which the points are added, or it happens automatically on eBay once you have registered to get them.
I get them on eBay and nowhere else; have no idea how many and don't care much, either!
AirMiles used to be great- I once flew to Edinburgh and back and stayed in a 4 star hotel B&B for 3 nights, all free.

Thank you, Rosalind, I did not know that.
I do not go to Sainsbury, but I use eBay regularly.

rusty.
If you google How to get a Nectar card you can fill in an on-line application and they will send you one. Then you register it with eBay and you get the points automatically when you buy anything.
However, whether it's worth the bother is another matter!
