Hi, Rusty!
Ah yes, the posts crossed......
Great minds and all that...!
Thank you for the Congratulations!
I have been talking to my younger daughter, who rang up with good wishes , too.
And we have had a lovely card from our son and granddaughter.
We were thinking of going out to dinner this evening to one of our favourite restaurants, to celebrate.
But it is so cold!
I am not sure of the advisability of this, considering how careful my husband needs to be.
We may wait for a slightly warmer spell, before going out in the evening air!
Still no word , by the way, from the Euro Car Parks and/or the Toby Carvery about their spurious fine!
Have you now been out to do your other few jobs ?
( I liked the reference to "I'll Fly Away"!)

Hello, Elle!
Could not you get a cab to your restaurant?
If it is the cold that is a problem, or is it the damp air?
But, you do have to prioritise your husband's health.
Or, could you get a meal delivered from a local restaurant?
There is a fish and chip shop not far from me who deliver.
Their food is excellent, too.
And there are one or two Chinese and Indian restaurants who do deliveries, too.
Do you have any like that in the vicinity?
I think the Euro Car Parks "fine" is the wrong term.
It is more of an invoice, I think.
I don't think their "fine" has any legality.
My tasks are over for tòday, more tomorrow.
You have athletics on Red Button on Sunday.
European Cross Country Championships from Lisbon.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Yes, I have been thinking along those lines....
We have an excellent Chinese TakeAway that delivers.
I think we shall possibly go with that option.
It is not quite the same as "going out", but would be more sensible.
And we shall probably have a family lunch out, next weekend, as well.
We would have done so yesterday, as being nearer the date, but YB has a chest infection.
Yes, I think you are correct in your description of the ECP situation......
Because the car park is on private land, the ECP have no legal "rights", and would have to take the matter to court to pursue their money.
But whatever they choose to call it, we are not paying!
Oh, that is great about the Athletics at the weekend!
The Red Button is usually 601, so I should be able to record it.
I shall look forward to watching that!

Good evening, Elle!
It is quite mild here, after our few days of minus temperatures.
After all the chat about fish and chip deliveries, and Chinese takeaways, I had bread and cheese for my tea!
Was fine!
Have you heard from the Carvery about your "fine"?

Hi, Rusty!
It is still very chilly here!
But according to the local forecast, it should start to become milder from Wednesday.
I think the "ideal" meal is eating what you like.....when you like.
So well done, you, for enjoying your bread and cheese!
No, still no word from either the ECP or the Carvery - I wrote to both.
I am not worried......we were only there for 15 minutes.
This is borne out by the camera.
The timing fits perfectly with what happened.....
I do not think either the ECP or the Carvery has the proverbial leg on which to stand!
It is just an unnecessary hassle!
No "Eggheads" all week.....
I wonder why?

Hello, Elle!
The mild spell has started here!
I like Red Leicester cheese the best.
it has a slightly nutty flavour.
So, where exactly at the Carvery did you park?
In a designated parking space?
Then you went inside, could not get served, and left, is that it?
How can you know it is full, without parking and going in?
I would tell them to go and whistle for their money.
I do not know about Eggheads.
I stopped watching it, a year or two ago.
I missed Daphne!

Hi, Rusty!
Cheddar cheese is my favourite!
Now the Carvery......I'm sorry, I thought I had previously explained this.
Yes, we parked in the restaurant's own car park.
We queued outside as there was a long queue.....
Then a member of staff came along and apologised for having to turn away anyone who had not reserved a table, as they were so busy.
So we left.
Now....one does not get to leave one's car Registration number in the machine until one reaches the booking desk.
As one is assigned a table, one is asked, at that time, to enter the car Reg into the machine.
We did not even get inside the restaurant..... let alone within striking distance of the booking desk and the registration machine!
So , you see, totally not our fault!
I shall have withdrawal symptoms from no "Eggheads" for a week!

Hello, Elle!
You appear to be blameless as regards parking.
Mad if the restaurant folk can not see that!
We do not have that system at Pine Cone, though La Bamba has been known to park beside the tractors before!
Now, Eggheads.
There are hundreds of episodes of Eggheads on YouTube which you can watch at your leisure.
Everything in the whole wide world is on YouTube!
Not so long ago, I read about Luisa Tetrazzini, who was a coloratura soprano, and reputed to be one of the all time greats.
But she died in 1940, and I thought I would never get to see/hear her.
Wrong!
Found her on YouTube on a Movietone newsreel from 1932, where she is listening to a recording of her great friend Caruso, and half way through she joins in.
What a voice! She was superb!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is another lovely day here.......and thankfully a tad warmer; 4C when I was out on my walk.
Unfortunately, one of the goslings is missing from the lake.....
Mum and dad were only escorting two babies this morning.
I suspect perhaps a fox?
We unearthed the Christmas tree from the understairs cupboard last night.
So, hopefully, might get it erected sometime soon!
And I had better look for my Christmas cards.....
Time is marching on!

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here, on the cold side, but frost free.
I bought Christmas cards today.
I go to a wee shop who has an amazing variety of cards.
Much bigger choice than the supermarkets have, and much cheaper, too.
The shop only sells cards and sweeties.
