Hi, Rusty!
I do not know "backspace", Rusty?
What is it?
Obviously a key.......on a keyboard? a typewriter?
This is a new term for me?
I didn't think of checking with Anne B for "dagga"......
I looked it up in Chambers, and was told "Indian hemp".
Right...my husband has to go to the GP surgery for a BP check...and the nurse said that she wanted to "have a chat" with him!
( I wonder what about?!)
I had better go chase him up...or he will be late for his appointment!

Hello, Elle!
I have a key on my Chromebook marked "backspace".
If I use it, it moves the cursor backwards.
Does your keyboard not have one?
Mine is on far right of keyboard, near the top.
Anne B is my first port of call when I need help!
An angel of mercy!
Yes, best if your husband arrives on time, or early.
Rushing may raise his BP!

Hi, Rusty!
No, I don't have a key on my Dell keyboard marked "backspace", Rusty.
But I do have one that moves the cursor backwards......I use it to "delete".....but it is unnamed!
Maybe that is it?
My husband met one of the "new" nurses.....
We have had a complete "take-over" of the practice....mostly now, the doctors and nurses are all "new" to the surgery.
The practice now seems to be much better managed, and patient care is definitely looking up.
A great improvement!
I think we are due another PPG meeting soon.
It is time I thought about dinner......
Mmm....I think I fancy omelettes.

Good evening, Elle!
I presumed all keyboards would have a "backspace" key.
Mind you, I have keys here and I don't know what they do, so I'll leave well alone!
Sounds as if your husband had a "getting to know you" meeting?
A good idea, I'd say.
I have had a look through my TV channels earlier today, and discovered I have three Christmas channels and a Sky "Brexit free" News channel!
I had rice and pears for my tea.

Good evening, Rusty!
I suspect that the key that I use to "delete" something, may well be my "backspace" key....but as it does not have a label, I may never know!
Yes, you are probably right about the "getting to know " meeting at the GP's surgery.
My husband said that in addition to his having his BP measured, he was taken through a list of questions...... was his general health good ;where did he live ; did he live alone; was there someone living with him who could look after him if need be; and so on.....
Interesting.......if a tad ironic that the nurse (semi-retired) apparently was very little younger than himself!
What is a "Christmas" channel?
And is there any News other than Brexit?!
It seems as though that last will never reach a (satisfactory) conclusion!

Hello, Elle!
I suspect backspace and delete keys will be the same, perhaps.
I have a key with "tab" on it and goodness knows what it's for.
I've pressed it but can't see anything happening.
Christmas channels are dedicated to showing nothing but Christmas films etc.
One is run by Sony, not sure who runs the other two.
I am going to try Sky "Brexit Free" News Channel tomorrow.
Sounds good, anyway!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, I guess you can always watch Bing in "White Christmas" on your Christmas channel!
I have lost count of how many times I have seen that!
Or "Miracle on 34th Street", with Richard Attenborough as Kris Kringle.....
I thought that a lovely story.
Or "The Snowman".....
Speaking of Christmas.... our local shops are already filling their shelves with Christmas "gear"......there is very little else that one can buy!
I do love Christmas.......just not in late October!
I haven't even given thought yet to our plans over the festive season.

Hello, Elle!
I don't think it will be any of the classic Christmas films.
Be more modern ones.
I've not seen "The Snowman".
I'll maybe have a wee look at the Christmas channels tomorrow, to see what like.
Pine Cone has Christmas stuff all year round.
Sky used to have a Christmas channel and it was simply focused on a crackling log fire, nothing else, just the fire.
Was very relaxing!

Hi, Rusty!
"The Snowman" is a beautifully illustrated children's book by Raymond Briggs.... and the animated film is based on that.
The film is usually shown every year over the Christmas period, but is always worth watching, as it is lovely ( short) film, showing a snowman coming to life.
Apparently , though, the book's author, Raymond Briggs, said that the book was never meant to be about Christmas, but about death....
He said the subsequent melting of the Snowman the following morning, was meant to illustrate mortality to the children.......
However, instead of this intention, , the book and film became well-known Christmas features!
I wonder will it be on YouTube or some such, if you would like to watch it?
I think it's a lovely story...and beautifully drawn.

Good morning, Elle!
I had a look on YouTube for "The Snowman".
Found it, and saved it for later.
It looks very good (I watched the first minute of it).
Also saved some"The Waltons reunions".
Good to see the young ones all grown up, though unfortunately, some of the cast have passed on.
Also saved some of "Two of a Kind", and to this day I can not tell who's who between Mary-Kate and Ashley!
