Hi, Rusty!
The plumber has just left.
We now have a completely new (more modern) electric shower fitment.
Retrospectively, we would have been wise to have that put in, when the shower cubicle was changed.
But it is all done now!
And the stop- cock now have has a "Sure Stop" fitted...you will probably know what this is.
New kitchen taps, too!
And he fixed an electrical problem whilst here, which has saved us calling in an electrician!
A very nice, friendly, helpful man!
I am still doing my puzzle , in between multi-tasking other jobs!

Update, Rusty!
All is now clean and tidy......
We are ready now for whenever the builders and decorators can come to do the next lot of jobs!
How is the golf progressing? I recall Lexi and Charley......
Are the two sisters that look alike twins, then?
My best friend is a identical twin!
She and her sister have very different characters, though.
I have finally finished my crossword.
I liked 16d: absit omen; and 23D; Lethe
But I couldn't parse 26a, the clue that you liked ?
I have "urban legend" = "second hand story" (def)
But I cannot see why?

Good evening, Elle!
Well done your plumber!
Europe have a one point lead over USA.
It has been very entertaining!
No, the Korda girls are not twins, but very alike.
And top class players, both of them.
Best for me today was Brittany Altomare for USA.
She is a rookie but played superbly.
It looked chilly at Gleneagles.
Lots of anoraks being worn!
"Urban legend" is very simple, Elle.
There have been several Popes who took the name "Urban".
The Pope's toe could be said to be his "leg end".
I liked that one!

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad you are enjoying the golf!
And you have another couple of days of it yet to watch.
It has been very warm here this afternoon, but is becoming chilly again this evening.
Very up and down!
I would never have managed to parse 28a.......
I had no idea for starters that there had ever been a Pope called "Urban"!
And I couldn't see "leg end", but yes, now that you have explained it to me, I can see why your initial reaction was to smile!
An unusual clue!

Hello, Elle!
The golf is great, for me, anyway.
It is chilly here, too.
I felt a bit sorry for the American girls today as the evening drew on.
They were wrapped up in anoraks and thick gloves.
One even had a hand warmer gadget.
Most of them live in Florida, which is a lot warmer than Scotland!
There have been eight Pope Urbans.
The last one, Pope Urban VIII, died in 1644.
I liked that clue!

Update, Elle!
I forgot to say that the Korda sisters father, is Petr Korda, who won the Australian Open tennis championship, about thirty years ago.
That'll be where their competitive spirit comes from!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I am sure that the contrast between the temperature in Florida and that of Scotland must tell on the American golfers.
It is as well that golfing is a sport which, to some extent, offers the opportunity to "wrap up"!
Petr Korda! Of course...
I had failed to connect the surname.....
Late 1990s?
Around at the same time as Tim Henman, Pete Sampras, Goran Ivanisevic.....
Petr Korda was banned from tennis because of drug -taking.
I cannot remember any of the details?
Eight Popes called "Urban"?!
Oh well, I learned something new today!
I shall know that now, if it ever crops up again......

Hello, Elle!
It is much warmer in Florida, but Florida does not have Gleneagles!
The Kordas are a sporting family.
This is Jessica and Nelly.

The most popular name for a Pope is John.
I think there have been more than 20 Johns.
The first Pope was Peter, and there has never been another.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is another sunny day here, albeit still chilly as yet.
I needed to wear a light fleece, whilst out walking my dog.
Thank you for the clip showing Jessica and Nelly.
Pretty girls...and yes, very alike!
I have looked up their father, Petr Korda, and I was correct about his being suspended from tennis for taking drugs.
He tested positive for a banned steroid, after playing Tim Henman in the Quarter Final at Wimbledon, in 1998.
Initially, the ITF just took away Korda's rankings and all the prize money he had just won...... but did not ban him.
His own country Czechoslavakia did suspend him, though, from playing there.
Later the ITF reversed their decision and Korda was banned from the sport for twelve months from September 1999.
He retired from the sport before that came into effect though, having failed to "qualify" for Wimbledon that year, once he had ceased taking drugs.
I do so hate all this drugs taking in sport.......
I should, in a way, like to see a permanent ban on anyone testing positive for prohibited substances.....but if the various sporting authorities were to do that, I guess we should no longer have any competitive sports........
There is no foreseeable solution , is there?
Oh dear! it is too early in the morning for this..... rant over with!
On a lighter note, are you going to the Pine Cone this morning?

Good morning, Elle.
A dry but chilly day here.
I did not know all that about Petr Korda.
I only vaguely remember him.
The Korda sisters are two very nice lasses.
And, yes, I struggle to tell them apart!
They are on the course now, playing Bronte Law and Carlota Ciganda.
Woolly hats, sweaters, and gloves, galore, at Gleneagles today, with a strong wind a-blowing.
The Floridians won't be used to that!
One of the problems with drugs in sport, is that lots of the ruling bodies are rife with cheats, too, not only the athletes.
And are there cheats in the drug testing labs?
So, if a drug using athlete is caught, then money may help to get the result changed or dismissed.
Pine Cone with La Bamba tomorrow, not sure if anyone else is going.
