Good morning, Elle!
Dull, dreich, and rainy here!
Not as heavy as yesterday's rain, if we look on the bright side!
I'm just home from the shop, fetching my paper.
I meant to say yesterday, that one of the Lowes chicks was seen fishing in a lake in England a day or two ago.
I've forgotten which lake, though!

Good morning, Rusty!
A bright and sunny day here!
None too warm, but this is probably par for the course in early September.
And I am definitely not complaining..... I much prefer this to the heat!
That is interesting about the osprey chick....I thought the birds always migrated for the Winter to warmer climes?
This is late still to be here, isn't it?
I wonder if perhaps the especially hot Summer has delayed its departure?
Surely an osprey be unable to survive here during the winter months?
I'm just about to print out my crossword.....have you already finished yours?

Hello, Elle!
The Lowes ospreys are thought to winter in Gambia.
The chick is probably getting good feeding at the lake before he continues his journey to Africa.
Hopefully all is well with the chick!
He should return in two or three years, I think.
Yes, I have finished my puzzle.
Pretty straightforward, I think!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
My morning did not turn out as planned!
A friend turned up unexpectedly, and so I did not carry out any of my intended jobs......
Nor have I even begun my crossword!
He has gone home now though....and my next step is to take out the dog!
She is ready and waiting!
I hope your own day has improved weatherwise?
We are certainly bring very fortunate here.
Back in a bit.....

Hello, Elle!
Take 2
My reply has disappeared, so second attempt!
It is a lovely afternoon here, now.
Nice change from the rain!
Hope the dog and you have a good long walk.
I was at the charity shop with some books and came across a leather travel holdall in very good nick.
So, I bought it.
Now, I'll have to think of somewhere to go with it!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, a lovely time out....this weather is superb.... I love the cooler days.
You did well with your purchase of a leather holdall from the charity shop!
(I guess it beats bartering for teaspoons!)
Now you have to decide where to go?
Maybe a trip to Donegal to see your family and friends?
It is quite a while since you have been there.......
Speaking of which...did I tell you that my Irish friend tells me that his brother has returned to his roots, and he and his wife are now running a B&B along The Wild Atlantic Way?
I think my daughter and family will stay with him, when they make their trip.

Hello, Elle!
I am quite chuffed with my purchase.
It is a super quality holdall.
I have ample teaspoons....for now!
If I do go anywhere, it would be Donegal or Belfast.
Not for the weather, obviously, but for the craic!
I have not yet made it to the Somme Museum at Newtownards.
Something else always turned up, and I was sidetracked!
But it's on my little bucket list.
Where on the Wild Atlantic Way is the B&B ?
I hope it does well.

Hi, Rusty!
Perhaps you could visit the Somme Museum next time you go to Belfast?
I am uncertain exactly where Newtownards is?
But I have heard of the Museum.
I can see that with your special interest in the First World War - and all the books on it that you have read - you would love to see the Museum.
I believe it researches Ireland's role in WW1, and even has reconstructed trenches of the Battle of the Somme?
You would enjoy the Imperial War Museum here, too.
That sounds to be a similar set up.
I'm sorry, I don't know exactly where Andrew's B & B is...I shall enquire!

Hello, Elle!
It appears to have turned chilly this evening.
Every time I go to Belfast, I tell them, " Right, we have to go to the Somme Museum"!
"Aye, surely".
But something has always got in the way of it.
The closest I got was one Saturday afternoon, we drove there and it was just closing.
One day I'll get there!
Yes, I've always had an interest in WW1, and I am a fan of Lyn MacDonald, so.
Newtownards is roughly ten miles outside Belfast.
My friends were married there.
