Hello, Elle!
Miss ATW got her soup kettle from her Dad for her birthday present.
Think he bought it in Curry's.
She is making soup and sandwiches for work tomorrow.
I was watching the Tour of Spain, and the Tour Of Britain.

Hi, Rusty!
I have been doing a bit of research ... it seems that one can buy electric soup kettles that you can plug in and use on a kitchen work top, as well as the type that go on top of the stove.
These can be available in varying small sizes; an average being around one litre capacity, aimed at soup for two to four people.
Interestingly, one can also buy them with a "smoothie" setting, so that healthy fruit drinks can be made , too!
I know you like making "smoothies"!
At present we make our soup in a large saucepan on top of the cooker.
That works well, but might be nice to compare options?
I might take a look when I next go to Currys....

Hello, Elle!
Miss ATW's soup maker is a Morphy Richards brand.
She says it is "great"!
Takes about twenty minutes from start to finish.
Some info here.

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for the link......that makes interesting reading.
I am unsure though about the price and the volume....
We usually make large quantities of soup, using a very big saucepan.
Obviously it is not as basically convenient as a soup kettle sounds, but it is cheap , enables a large amount to be made..... and requires little cleaning if a non-stick pan is used.
And we can freeze some of the soup!
But I shall investigate all the options, having read the article.
Sprout soup is one of my favourites!

Hello, Elle!
A small one would do me fine.
Be less costly, too.
And it only takes 20 minutes.
My favourite soup is lentil, carrot, and bacon.
Wouldn't mind a bowl of it, now!

Good evening, Rusty!
I have just been talking to my cousin.
All fortunately are well up in the North- west.
It is very dark here, now....night falls very soon now that we are in September.
But what I really hate are the dark mornings!
When I let the dog out into the garden at 6 o'clock this morning, I had to switch on the outside light to check the garden was fox-free!
Before long, it will still be darkish when I go out for my walk.
Winter is coming!

Hello, Elle!
Good tidings from the North West, well done!
I don't mind the dark evenings.
Hopefully we have some good weather before Winter kicks in!
Just watched Millionaire.
One lad won a quarter of a million pounds!

Hi, Rusty!
I agree, dark evenings to me are immaterial.
Once I am in ... I stay there!
It is rare for us to go out of an evening.
I should prefer that we maintained lightness in the mornings for all the year round.
Well, that will happen in a few weeks; the clocks go back at the end of October!
I haven't had the TV on since the Great North Run this morning!
I had forgotten about "Millionaire".......
I still cannot decide whether I like Jeremy?

Good morning, Elle!
Heavy rain here!
I was out earlier but chickened out of the walking, and drove to ASDA!
Think I am home for the day, too!
I like Jeremy.
I have only seen him on Millionaire though.
Never watched his cars programme.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is raining here, also, but only lightly so far.
Dog and I were only slightly dampened, whilst out on our walk.
Apparently it is set in for the day, though.
Yes, I too have no fixed plans for the day.....
Maybe the plumber will come?
My husband seems to have left this open-ended , so I am not sure what is happening!!
Apart from another dog walk later, my day is (so far) my own!
