Yes - well parsed, rusty!

I was surprised by the hidden message being in the clues?
I have only ever noticed "messages" before, in the answers.....
I had never heard of Tajikistan......and so didn't come up with "Stan" being a chap.....
"JK" after "I" is very clever...
I like that!
I would never have thought that "tone" means "feel" - I had checked with Anne B, but she didn't offer any help there.
"Gangsta" surely had me puzzled!
I have never heard of that genre of music...and didn't know the Scottish words.
I should still be waiting for the proverbial cows...if you hadn't very kindly explained it all to me!

I expect you are referring to the funeral. My sister had requested that everyone wore something yellow - her favourite flowers were sunflowers - and nearly everone, including the "mutes" followed this. We found some clip-on sunflowers to wear on our lapels. If a stranger had wandered through the wake, they probably wouldn't have realised it was one - what she would have wanted!

I know it's a difficult time for you, but I didn't want to ignore it.
I am glad the funeral went well - wearing something yellow - a bright , brave and cheerful colour - sounds a wonderful idea.

There could be messages anywhere in the puzzle, clues and all.
I am glad you saw it.
Tajikistan is new to me!
I knew Turkmenistan.
I thought the puzzle was tricky.
I can almost see "tone/feel" but can find no evidence that they could mean the same.
Wonder what Roget's has?
I no longer have Roget's Thesaurus.
Gangsta was easy for me, as I had heard of the term, and the Scots words are well known to me.
There is a Scots song containing the line,
"Will ye gang tae the Hielands, Leezie Lindsay,
Will ye gang tae the Hielands wi' me."
Burns had something to do with it, but I am not sure he wrote it?
Are the lads coming back tomorrow?

Now....I have checked in both Roget's and Collins Thesauruses/ Thesauri (both seem to be acceptable)
My Roget's does not have "feel/ tone"...but it is a very old copy.
My Collins Thesaurus has "feel" under "tone", but not the other way around.
I was reading earlier about BGT's "The Champions" series.
It seems that Ashleigh Butler is returning...... without Pudsey who sadly died two years ago......but with a new dog called Sully.
I have just discovered that my elder daughter and family are not going to Turkey until Wednesday.......
I could have sworn she had told me it was tomorrow!

I'm sorry, but I don't know anything about BGT Champions, other than that snippet I accidentally came across about Ashleigh and new dog Sully.
But yes, I feel sure that "Diversity" will be there.....
I haven't watched the Show for very long, so cannot come up with many possible returning winning acts?
No doubt "Lost Voice Guy" and the Senior Citizen will be on it!
There was a clever magician who won.......but I cannot remember his name?
