Good evening, Pigale!
Your weather is much warmer than mine!
Well done on your walk in the sun.
It can only do you good!
I was out walking earlier, nothing strenuous, just looking for the first snowdrops of the year!
I do not know how "fashionable" skorts are, but many lady golfers wear them, and I can not tell the difference between skorts and a short skirt!

Good evening, Rusty!
I thought some of the designs for skorts were very attractive....they make a great fashion item , too.
A pity they were not around in the days when I wore (very) mini skirts!
Now, you ask about Paper Cavalier.....
Amazon has already paid some money back into my husband's Amazon account - he used what was previously in there towards payment of the Scientific Journal.
The remainder of the cost of the book is to go back on his Barclaycard...as will the cost of return postage when that goes through.
So...so far , so good, isn't it?
We shall check on the Barclaycard process in a few days.
A question on "Eggheads" was "What does the word "Nimby" mean?"
I am sure you will probably know it....?

Hello, Pigale!
I wish I had had your lovely sunny day!
It has been wet (again) here, albeit a bit milder.
Yes, the skorts are attractive and practical.
We could have done with those around in our "mini skirt" days, couldn't we?
I had my hair cut today.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I know "Nimby"!
There's a lot of them about!
I agree the skorts are attractive.
I hope your husband has his return postage returned quite soon.
You would think Paper Cavalier or Amazon would email him to let him know the the refund had taken place?
Has he found the book elsewhere?

Hi, Rusty!
Well done!
I would not have got "Nimby"!
I know the expression "Not in my back yard", but wouldn't have associated it with the word.
Well, Amazon had told my husband that the book refund has taken place...although all the money is not yet through.... that is why I was prompted to enquire what was happening about the postage cost.
And last night we had the email saying that in few days the money for the postage , too, will be available.....
So we are slowly getting there, I think?
No, my husband hasn't found Volume One elsewhere.........
I rather think it will be a long time (if ever) before he buys another used book online!
He is somewhat disillusioned!

Hello, Elle!
I am surprised you do not know "nimby"?
I am not surprised your husband is a bit disillusioned!
Wonder if it was a genuine error in Paper Cavalier sending the wrong book?
Maybe they were chancing their mitt and thought they would get away with it?
I watched this on YouTube,
These young ones are brilliant!

Brilliant indeed Rusty! What a lot of patience it must have taken
those youngsters to build this and what engineering quality!

Yes, Elle, these skorts would definitely have been part of my
wardrobe, along with the mini-skirts!!!
Souvenirs, souvenirs!

Pigale

I am sure you would look great in a skort, if you don't mind me saying so.

Hello, Pigale!
The young ones are very clever and some of the stuff was quite ingenius.
You are correct, can't begin to imagine the patience and light touch, and the time needed to create such a great piece of work.
I think there are more on YouTube.
Must have a look another time!

Hi, Rusty!
Wow, what an engineering feat!
Both in building the set-up with such patience, and delicacy, and in creating the chain reaction for knocking it all down.
Incredible!
I have managed - in between watching a recorded episode of "Casualty" - to do six clues in the February Times Monthly.
It seems a very difficult puzzle this month...for me, anyway.
It always involves quite a lot of research......but it is a good learning process!

Hello, Pigale!
I liked the mini and the midi fashion lengths the best!
I didn't like the maxi.....and the knee length follow-up was just plain boring!
As Maurice Chevalier said ...."Ah yes, I remember it well"!

Hey Jigjag, thank you, but I do believe that one should age gracefully -
I still dress 'fairly' modern, but within limits ....

Having said that, at times I am still 17 in my mind!
