Hi, Rusty!
What a complicated game...all these obscure rules!
But yes, I do recall your mentioning a similar situation arising for Lexi.
I am glad that tennis is easier to understand!
Now, an update on the Paper Cavalier saga...
It looks like my email to Amazon yesterday has brought forth fruit......
A late reply from Amazon this evening states in writing now, that the £20-70 return postage will definitely be refunded to us!
But then they did say that before......
We shall see , but hopefully I shall be able to rule a line under all this palaver soon!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, lots of rules in tournament golf.
Lexi was unfairly treated, even Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus spoke out for her.
And they have different dress codes for men and women.
Male players can not wear shorts, but their caddies can.
Yet, the ladies can wear skirts, skorts, shorts, or trousers.
Well, it looks like Amazon are guaranteeing the refund, which is good.
You will be glad to see the back of Paper Cavalier!

Good morning, Rusty!
A dullish day here, but at least the rain has stopped!
What is it like up your way?
"Skorts" was a new word for me!
It is a fashion trend that has obviously passed me by.
I had never heard of them.
I needed to consult Google!
I am away out shortly to have my hair trimmed...…...

Good morning, Elle!
Great day here with hard frost!
Meant to be less cold from tomorrow.
You did not know "skorts"?
I don't know if they are fashion items, but some of the women golfers wear them, and some wear short skirts, or trousers if it is colder.
Your daughters may know of skorts?
I have been out earlier.
Heading out now for a walk and some snowdrop spotting!

Hi, Rusty!
I am finally home ...with my hair now under control again, and half an inch shorter!
It is damp out (again).
Did you see any snowdrops whilst you were out walking?
We do not seem to have any (yet?) in our garden this year.......but the daffodils are all coming through.
Neither Collins nor Chambers seem to have heard of "skorts"..... but Google tells me they are "a pair of shorts with a flap across the front (and sometimes also the back) to give the appearance of a skirt".
Is this an apt description of what the lady golfers are wearing?
I am in need of a coffee......and maybe a bacon buttie.....

Good afternoon, Elle,
My walk was an urban one, but I saw snowdrops!
I can't tell the difference between skorts and a short skirt when watching women's golf.
The LPGA brought in new dress code rules a couple of years ago for the women.
They included, "no racerbacks unless they have a collar", "no plunging necklines", "the bottom area must be covered at all times, even when bending, and even when wearing undershorts". etc.
I have not heard of anyone breaking the rules, although lots of the girls criticised them.
The vast majority of golfers have clothes sponsors anyway and are supplied with new kit for each day of every tournament, and the clothing sponsors will definitely comply.

Hi, Rusty!
My word. who would believe such a wide choice of "skorts"!
Reading the blurb on a random selection of styles, I am gathering that a "skort" is basically a skirt with built- in shorts.
It sounds a practical dress item , especially for sports.
I have not looked at today's daily cryptic, choosing instead to make a start on the February issue of the Times Monthly.
I did do yesterday's puzzle , however, but found myself stuck on four of the clues......
I put the crossword on one side, waiting for inspiration to strike, but then unfortunately forgot all about it!
My daughter should be phoning soon on her way home.

Hi Elle and Rusty!

Hope you are both well: and for once, the weather has been
absolutely beautiful all day, with temps rising to a high of over 10C
this afternoon, and 13C plus in the sun.
So I popped down town just for the pleasure of walking in the sun!

Now, Skorts, (or JUPE-SHORT as we call them, ie Skirt-Short)
can be very attractive if the designer has a litle imagination.
I have seen one or two that, were I younger - very much younger!!!, in my late teens or early twenties - I would wear! I certainly would have worn them had they been in fashion when I was that age!

How has your day been?

Hello, Elle,
Skorts are a good idea for sportswear.
Certainly some the golf ladies wear them.
I do not know the Times Monthly puzzle.
Today's Times puzzle is fairly straightforward.
Nothing from Paper Cavalier?
