Good afternoon pigale, rusty et al!
Hope the weather's a little cooler there, pigale, or the lads will be suffering again this afternoon!
Fine win from young Bardet yesterday - especially so, considering he was very ill with heat stroke earlier in the competition. Now there's determination (youthful!).
I hope todays stage is a good one for you to watch!

Hello, TheRogue!
Yes it was a very tough stage.
Tomorrow is going to be a great battle, I think.
I am not as certain as I was, that Froome will win Le Tour.
His team were so-so today.
Richie Porte no help at all.
Even Geraint Thomas went out the back door.
Looking forward to Alpe d'Huez!

Hi again, Hello Therogue,

What a show Nibali and Quintana have put on - and what happened to Rolland ? I missed half an hour of the race, when I left, he was doing fine and when i came back he was nowhere to be seen amongst the first few!

Yes Theorogue, the heat lessened as they climbed up and left the 30C in the valley. There are some thunders forecast everywhere on the Eastern borders so lucky it did not break during the race.

Does anyone think that Froome can be losing his yellow jersey by the end of tomorrow ? He still has 2..38 mns on Quintana - will that be enough ?

PS - Fairly good day for Pinot and Bardet too .

Going to restaurant with my English friends, one of whom I have not seen for over a year - we have been friends since 1974 !

Speak later.

Hello, Pigale!
Unfortunately, Rolland ran out of legs!
But, fair play to Europcar, they have had men in the breaks attacking, every single day.
That makes Le Tour, for me.
I do not know about tomorrow, but plans are being prepared, right now!
Maybe the Sky riders will recover by tomorrow.
Who knows?
Froome could have a bad day?
We simply don't know.
Quintana will attack, we know that, but it is a big time gap to claw back.
We shall see...

I watched today live, and have already turned down other offers so that I can watch tomorrow as well.

Difficult to predict - Quintana worked very hard on the last climb today, but so did Froome.

Very difficult to predict, Chris.
Tomorrow is another difficult day, and that is before they get to Alpe d'Huez!
If Quintana or Nibali think they have the legs, they have to be thinking of attacking Froome long before d'Huez.
It will be fascinating!
I liked the little Alpine villages with the extremely steep roofs.
Just watching is like being on holiday!

Good Evening, Rusty!
I hope you've had a good day's viewing? I even managed to watch some of the race live, myself, when we returned home from our (very wet) walk this afternoon.
Seemingly, Chris Froome may have a harder fight on his hands tomorrow than anticipated this time yesterday ( I still think it a very complicated sport!)
Do you think he will still win overall? there seem to be so many factors to be considered!
I love watching the background scenery- it's a beautiful country!
Right now, I'm watching the Athletics! It is the Anniversary Games - the Diamond League meeting held at the Olympic Stadium here in London.
We have a whole weekend of Athletics to look forward to - tonight, tomorrow and Sunday!
We have the family coming over on Sunday though , so some of it will. have to be recorded.

Hello, Elle.
I am not as sure as I was, that Froome will win.
He looks so ungainly on a bike it is hard to ascertain how well, or not, he is going.
Someone described him as being the Jim Furyk of cycling. Jim is a golfer, and his swing has been described as looking "like an octopus falling out of a tree"!
Two hard mountains tomorrow, the Col de la Croix de Fer and Alpe d'Huez. Could be an epic stage.
The scenery is superb. Breathtaking!
It will be very orange on Alpe d'Huez too!
The Dutch on their "adopted mountain".
I am looking forward to that!
