Hi, Rusty!
I did have the cycling on for a short time earlier......
I agree there is some fantastic scenery to be seen.....but it does not hold my attention for very long.
I was easily side tracked by the prospect of my new book!
I had ordered the second instalment "But Seriously..." of John McEnroe's autobiography, which has just arrived today.
It is a hardback edition and is excellent condition for a supposedly "used" book!
I am very pleased with it, and am well into reading it already!
As with "Serious" - his earlier book - it is very much like having Mac standing before me, talking!
It is (almost , but perhaps not quite) as engrossing as his previous book!

Hello, Elle!
A pity the scenery does not hold your attention.
I enjoy it, and the racing.

Hi, Rusty!
Oops! that comment perhaps did not come over quite as I intended?
It is not that I do not like and enjoy looking at the scenery........but I find the cycling itself detracts from my enjoyment and appreciation of the background?
Were I looking merely at scenes of the French countryside and mountains, I should enjoy it all very much better.....and would happily sit and watch......and learn!
As I do the videos for instance of the WWA!
It is the foreground activity that spoils my pleasure in the surroundings of Le Tour.
Does that make sense to you?
It is of course very different for you - and other fans of cycling - as you are interested in the Sport as well as the background views.
I am always interested to hear how the cycling day went...and how the jersey allocations go....
I do like hearing about it...and improving my knowledge of it......just not necessarily watching it!

Hello Elle and Rusty!

Well, after all my looking forward to the race this afternoon, I
missed it all - and just had to make do with the highlights.
Hairdresser, Dentist and GP are all to blame, particularly since
my GP was behind times by an hour - rather unusual for him -
and 35C by the town thermometre! Luckily, I had a lift back up
the hill - I felt exhausted.
Had it not been for the dentist and the GP, I would have cancelled
the hairdresser.
Anyway, all behind me now.

Well done the winner and Bardet, Dumoulin etc...
Dumoulin must have had a warm welcome from his country-men.
Good to see Geraint Thomas in yellow again.

Was it a good race Rusty?
Glad you saw at least some of the scenery Elle, just a shame that
the actual cycling spoils it for you, but if it is not your sport, that's
fair enough and I can understand - you would not get me watch a tennis match!

Hello, Elle!
That's fine!
We are all different in our choices of sport.
There are several sports I cannot be doing with.
It's a lovely evening here.
Been watching the golf with my son.
Very pleasant.

Hello, Pigale!
35C is very hot!
Glad you accomplished your tasks, though!
I was very pleased for G, though I thought for a while Tom Dumoulin was going to win.
I like Tom, too.
Something happened to Nibali on the last section of the climb.
I saw him lying on the road.
Maybe brought down by a spectator or a motorbike.
Anyway the Alps is over, Pyrenees next week and still a long long way to Paris!

Hi rusty
Apparently Nibali was sandwiched between the two (motorbike and spectator), though the cameras didn't catch it.
G couldn't have looked more surprised at winning!

Hi, Rusty!
I had forgotten that it was Thursday!
I am glad that you had a good catch up with your son, especially whilst both watching the golf!
I think I have a psychological blockage with the cycling......
I cannot rid myself of the apprehension that at any moment an accident might occur!
Hence my not being willing to give the scene my full attention.
The little I did watch - about an hour - only served to make me more nervous......
The accompanying cars seem to go so close to the bike riders!
I hope the guy who was lying in the road was not unduly hurt?
How did the Dutchman, Steven Kruijswijk, whom you mentioned earlier, get on ?
Did the green and yellow jerseys stay in the same hands?

Hello, Pigale!
You have indeed had a busy day...... fitting in hairdresser, dentist and doctor in the same afternoon!
It would be all I could do to cope with just one of those in a day!
Did you have your hair cut?
I am due to go visit my hairdresser next Tuesday!

Hello, Chris!
I have now bought the second volume of John McEnroe's autobiography!
"But Seriously...."

Yes, the commentators mentioned broken vertebrae. How could he have possibly gained time on the leaders suffering from that? Superman!
