Hello, Elle!
There is no point in me telling you anything about cycling when you claim to have a psychological block about the sport.
I shall leave you to enjoy less traumatic sports.

btw (though I'm not asking for sympathy!), I'm still recovering from being knocked off my bike by a pedestrian stepping out from behind a parked car just in front of me about a month ago - still sore and tender in the lower back, and I've not felt like getting back on a bike since. Golf not affected, though!

Hi, Rusty!
But you have always known that I do not like to actually watch the cycling for fear of an accident occurring!
I am on edge the whole time in case this does happen!
That is not to say that I do not want to understand how the sport operates or to learn what goes on, how it works etcetera.
I like learning the various ins- and- outs that you and Pigale tell me.......
I especially enjoyed learning all about the different coloured jerseys, and how to qualify for wearing one of those.
I can be interested without physically watching the racing!
I find trying to grasp the various nuances, and rules and regulations, is very interesting, and challenging.
I can surely enjoy following Le Tour "second hand"...from what you tell me?
So please , bear with me......and do not stop telling what has happened!

Good morning, Elle!
It is a bit wet here today.
Wonder how that will affect the golf scores at Carnoustie today?
Now, cycling!
You have to understand, Elle, that I am just an ordinary bike fan and I do not have any specialised knowledge of the sport, any more than the next person.
I have my favourite riders, and my favourite races, just as a follower of any other sport does.
I don't mind answering your questions but you would learn so much more by, for instance, watching the highlights in the early evening.
And perhaps I would get less questions!
Anyway, most of the top sprinters are out of the race now, unfortunately, and so is Nibali who was brought down yesterday.
And.... it's still a long long way to Paris!

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
We have a cooler day here ....only a very weak sun and partially overcast..... with a welcoming fresh breeze...but no rain as yet!
According to the local forecast, rain may be expected from 8 pm!
But it may be an idle threat/ promise!
We shall see....it is obviously much needed!
I am sorry if I have been a pain with my questions about the cycling!
I shall endeavour to rein in my queries!
You have been very patient...!
Now to have breakfast...I didn't have time earlier!

Good afternoon Elle and Rusty,

Somewhat less of an extreme heat here too - sun is hiding behind
some white clouds, but it still is humid and warm.

I came across two articles about the ins and outs of the Tour's rules
etc, which you might find interesting.

I'll see if I can send you the link, but I was 'not allowed to do so' a minute ago - so if I don't succeed, just type 'Le Tour de France
rules etc' and you should find them there. There are several !
A lot of things in the article you already know thanks to rusty,
but you might gain some more knowledge?

Well, for some reason they won't allow me to send this message!

just type 'The Tour de France rules, jerseys etc' rather interesting
even though you already know some parts of it.

and then you might want to type '14 TDF rules you probably
did not know'.

Hope you find it interesting, but there again, it might not interest
you at all!

Hello, Elle!
Been light rain here since morning.
I'm just home from hospital appointment.
All's well!
I am away behind though.
No paper today.
No idea how the golf and Tour are going.
Will see if I can access my puzzle online.
I don't like being behind!

Hello, Pigale!
It is somewhat humid here, too now, and very overcast.....
I have my fingers crossed for some rain!
The radio has been saying thunderstorms......
Yes, I found the link - I have the right one, in the Telegraph? - and have saved it in "Favourites" to peruse later - and to keep handy for referral.
Thank you very much!
That is very kind of you!
I will get on top of these intriguing "rules" if it kills me!

Hi, Rusty!
I am so glad that all went well at your hospital appointment.
Did you go locally ...or did you need to return to the hospital some distance away where you had the scan?
It will be a relief as always to have a successful "check up" behind you!
Yes, I know that "catch up" feeling!
I don't know why it always seems so important to "be on schedule"?
Yet one is always left with a feeling of chasing one's tail, otherwise.
I haven't even printed out my crosswords today....
Once I had sorted the dog...and done my chores...... I have been riveted to my John McEnroe book!
I do not think this second volume is as "entertaining" as was the first book....yet I still cannot put it down!
I have nearly finished it…..

Hello, Elle!
This was my local hospital.
I walked there and back...in the rain!
I would have driven but parking is nigh on impossible there.
Finished my puzzle!
Now.... time to catch up on the Open and the Tour!
