P.S. Rusty!
I forgot to tell you I saw Shirley Bassey and Bjorn Borg at Wimbledon today!
And I wasn't too sure whether or not I spotted Cliff Richard?
I didn't see Rod Laver again, today......although he may well have been there!

Hello, Elle!
It is tricky for me watching the sport.
But I'll see how Le Tour is going, then try a bit of the golf and the tennis.
I noticed Jonathan Edwards hair is pure white now!
He introduces the cycling each day (and does it well!).
Now, Miss O is going to hospital tomorrow to support her friend who is getting an eye operation.
I told her, her friend comes first, and we can go to Pine Cone anytime.
So it will be Sat or Sun before we get to Pine Cone.

Good morning, Rusty!
A slightly cooler and fresher start to the day, here!
I had a very enjoyable and more energetic walk!
That is very kind of Miss O to accompany her friend to the hospital.
And as you say, you have other days you can both go to the Pine Cone.
I have no plans for today, other than doing the crossword.......for which I didn't find time, yesterday! ........ a few odd jobs.....and, of course, watching the tennis this afternoon!

Good morning, Elle!
It is cooler here, too.
I have just taken part in a loch poll as to which day the first chick will fledge.
I have gone for Saturday.
But having looked in today, the first flight looks imminent!
Miss O's friend comes first.
Hope her op goes well.
I have finished the puzzle.
A very good one, I think.
The tennis should be good!

President Trump flew over the house earlier on his way to Sandhurst. What a terrific noise ! An Osprey V22 and two helicopters. That's the nearest I will ever get to him thankfully.

Very sensible, Rusty! I hope he finds his manners before he meets the Queen.

This video taken recently will give you an idea of how loud it was. I was too late in grabbing my camera.

Hi, Rusty!
I have made a good start on the crossword.
Now I think you have an unfair advantage with 9a: "taoiseach" !
Although I suppose it balanced out with 11a...
I don't suppose you were happy with "'ardour" sounds like " 'arder"!
The puzzle doesn't seem too difficult ...although I am really not into crosswords this week!
My mind is too tennis orientated.....
One of my grandson's has a birthday today......he is eight!
We feel sad that we cannot see him!
Although we have sent him a present and card...and we shall phone him when he gets home from school.
But it is just not the same as when the family used to live locally!

Hello, Elle!
Ah, now, "taoiseach" is a good one!
I have to think deeply on the spelling though!
I thought "ardour" was fairly fair when I put my Cockney titfer on!
The "Newcastle mother" in 4d was a struggle for me.
I thought "mam" was a Scouse word.
In Donegal they say "mammy".
When Newcastle is mentioned it is often "NE" for North East, they are indicating...although it is South from me.
The parse in 28a is beyond me. Help?
I have the golf on.
A fair wind coming in off the North Sea.
Do you know of "Skype", Elle?
Can you not Skype your grandson when he comes home?

Hello, Jazzgirl.
I have not seen helicopters like that before!
