Hello, Elle!
You will have switched your computer off at the wall plug, for a minute or two, then on again?
That often resolves problems.
No, It is not as if Lassie and Laddie made a date to meet up.
Laddie will probably turn up in a day or so.
And there could well be other ospreys in the vicinity.
The loch site is superb for ospreys to breed.
So this is Spring?
My calendar has today as "Vernal Equinox", but I have no idea what that means. Spring?
Still no word from Singapore!

Hi, Rusty!
We have had a visit from the lady- hoping- to- live-next -door!
As far as I can gather - her command of English is not good - her son and his builders are having a break from working in the house, whilst the weather is so cold!
That makes good sense as there is no heating in there.
We have tried to explain to her about the water leak and the need for her son to give permission for Thames Water to dig in the shared territory between the houses, but could make no headway.
The best we can hope for is that now her son will contact us, and we can explain to him.
Meanwhile, I am just thankful that we are not yet being metered and so do not have to pay a bill for this continual water wastage!!
A good article in The Courier about Lassie and Laddie!

Hello, Elle,
A good idea (I think!) would have been to write down on paper what the problem with the water/Thames Water etc is and ask her to give it her son, so he could contact you or Thames Water?
Though surely it is Thames Water's job to contact owners in the event of a leak or other problems?
Yes, a nice wee article in the Courier.
Lassie seems to be settling in fine!

Hello Rusty and Elle,

Sorry for delay - was away from computer, (watching Catherine The
Great from a DVD).

I understand what you are saying Rusty, and more than likely you are
right, as I will admit to have little knowledge of Osprey behaviour - as
you say Elle.
The only thing that prompted my comment is the early hour in
the morning for Lassie's arrival - Have they ever arrived that
early on the nest, do you know?

Yes, I too saw Lassie enjoying a nice big trout!

Thanks for your tips - I've been watching Lassie carefully, and have now spotted the "Y" on her forehead (let's just hope that Laddie doesn't have one too!)

Hello, Pigale!
Oh, I do not know if the early hour is unusual or not, Pigale.
Maybe not early to Lassie!
She is an "early bird"!
Other sites, like Loch Garten, have no birds yet.
They will turn up over the next week or so.
Laddie will not be too far away now.

Chris
Did you see my screenshot earlier which shows the Y as she was looking into the camera.

Hello Rusty
I am told that the ospreys will spend overnight up a tree that has some shelter (before the eggs are laid.) Do you know ?

Hello, Jazzgirl!
Yes, they have favourite branches on trees at the edge of the loch where they perch overnight.
Laddie spends a lot of time nearby, as he gets peace to eat his fish!
Just reread the Courier report and notice that they think today is Thursday!
