Hi, Rusty!
I'm seeing "Goldoni" as the Italian playwright?
But I must be being dim, because I still cannot get the inner target?
The "bull"?
We have just been speaking to the young man who has bought the house next door.....
The one whose mum came round to introduce herself the other day........
He wanted to show us what he and the builders have been doing....
The lounge and kitchen are completely gutted...the kitchen is stripped to the rafters......
There is a tremendous amount of work to be done....
I would say that it is very many years since the house was last "taken in hand"!
Our Victorian villa was built in 1878... I think next door was a year later......
I do not know whether eventually he will live there or not........he says he wants to do it up and sell....
But his mum and dad want to live there.....
I guess time alone will tell!

Hello, Elle!
I have Goldoni, too.
Not ever heard of him!
I think in archery competitions the bull on the target, is called the "gold".
Well at least you have met your new "neighbour".
Sounds like "Homes Under the Hammer" beside you.
You'll maybe see Dion Dublin rocking up one day!!
Sounds like it will take some time to do up properly.
We have snow swirling about.
Hoping it is not on for long!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh , I see...I didn't know the target was the "gold"!
I don't know "Homes Under the Hammer" or Dion Dublin?
It sounds like a property auction programme?
Is Dion Dublin the presenter?
I think the new owner of next door may be in for more than he has bargained for......
The previous owner had a number of "cowboys" working on her house over the years.........
I fear there are a multitude of "botched" jobs!
We too were forecast snow flurries today...but fortunately nothing arrived!
I hope that your snow advent does not last!
Our daughter has just been on the phone - it appears that half term is next week....but they are all full of cold again....
We really do not want a "second wave"........!
We are only just recovering....
Oh dear!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the centremost part of the target is the "gold". (See Chambers?)
Homes under the Hammer is a property auction programme.
It is/was on BBC every morning.
Dion was a presenter.
He is best known, though, as a former footballer.
Played for Manchester United and Coventry City and a few more clubs.
These lads who do up the properties will sort out the botches.
Not a great problem but it will cost money.
It may not be the first property he has taken on, in a poor state?
Snow is still swirling, but little is lying, so far.
So, are your daughter and family visiting you?

Hi, Rusty!
I think the buyer got the property at a very good price because of its poor state?
So he should do nicely out of the deal, if he does the house up and then sells it.
It would make three good sized flats - possibly four if extended into the very large loft......
But I am hoping we won't have multi-tenants next door!
These are really family properties.
But its fate is, of course, out of our hands........
I am not sure what our daughter will decide to do about coming to stay.....
I have tactfully pointed out that her dad and I are only just recovering .......and we are definitely not ready for Round Two!
I think the most sensible option would be to leave it till midweek and then see how they are all feeling.......?

Hello, Elle!
It could be that the man who bought it is a property developer?
There may be grants available from the council for doing it up?
The lad appears to know what he is doing.
Yes, see how your daughter and family recover.
You do not need any more bugs!

Hi, Rusty!
No, I don't somehow think that he is a property developer..........?
I think he said that the family owned a shop?
I got the impression that this is something he had set his heart on doing?
His own project?
But there again, I could well be wrong!
We shall no doubt find out more as time progresses!
Yes, my thoughts entirely about our daughter and family!
As much as we should love to see them...we very definitely do not want exposure to any more bugs!!!

Hello, Elle!
He sounds very like some of the folk on Homes Under the Hammer.
They buy properties that have been neglected and frequently turn them into lovely homes.
Some move in, but I think most sell them, or rent them out.
You should look in to Homes Under the Hammer.
It is amazing the transformations that take place!
Here's Dion!

Several days may see your daughter's bug cleared up.
It may turn out OK!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, yes, the property certainly has the potential to make a lovely home........
After all, we are well pleased with ours!
And I well remember the disgusting state our house was in, when we bought it back in the nineteen seventies!
We didn't have much money then, though...and it took us a very long time indeed, to do it up very gradually......
We had to camp out upstairs for nearly a year, as the downstair's rooms were not fit to live in!
But we got there in the end........
I am going to make us a hot bedtime drink........and maybe a shortie biscuit......

Hello, Elle!
Well that may be the situation next door.
Homes Under the Hammer is on BBC1 at 10 a.m. each weekday.
I used to watch it regularly.
Just been reading about Laura Muir on Twitter.
This was her routine today.
All day at PDSA.
Track session.
Physio.
A visit from UK Anti Doping.
A busy young lady!
