Sorry Albie, I have never heard of them and had to google! As far as I can see, they never took part in the Tour, but don't quote me! Better wait for Rusty to confirm this.

jazzgirl, I disagree with you, but sorry!
Not a day for banter.
I hope things go smoothly for you today.

Elle, I had never heard of the word until about ten years ago. I was having a pint and a bit of craic one evening with a criminal solicitor pal of mine (To clarify, he was a solicitor who defended criminals, not a criminal solicitor, if you follow me). He had been in court that day defending a hamesucken client. Had a wee look in Bradfords but don't see it.
Pigale, I think we were ALL young in Darrigade's day!
Bouhanni did not start today.
The favourite would be Cavendish, but Greipel is in good form, and Degenkolb. Sagan, for me, is great in a finish, but not a superfast sprinter like Cav or Greipel.
The best, of course, is missing. Marcel Kittel still recovering from injury. Pinot won't show today, I do not think. He will be thinking of the mountains.
And when will we see Voeckler on one of his long mad breaks!

Pigale, great to hear that Darrigade is still with us!
And 86! Still young!
I always associate him with, Bobet, Anquetil, Anglade, Pou-Pou, Riviere etc. What a wonderful group of French cyclists! The glory years.
I cannot remember much about Trentin, but remember Daniel Morelon very well.
He was a track sprinter and never rode a Tour.
Last time I saw him he was coaching the Chinese sprinters.
He was the best I ever saw doing a "track stand".
He could remain immobile for minutes!

My suggestion for topic-specific threads was only a suggestion. It was not an attempt to overthrow Norah’s rules or wishes.
However, I suggest that a brief look at Norah’s words (in bold capitals) in Post 1 might explain part of my reasoning.

Kenyatta, I have had a look, as you suggested, at Norah's Post 1. I am in favour of all of it.
I also am in favour of Norah's Post 102, I think it is.
My very favourite post though is Post 90.

No, Rusty, I couldn't find 'hamesucken' in Bradford's either... I looked under 'householder ' and 'robbery'....

Wimbledon rained off for the second time! Still sunshining here and we're only ten miles away!
Who'd live in SW19!
Federer match going nicely so far.....first set to Roger; match stopped at second set 6-5
Andy Murray and Pospisil one set each....

Without even looking it up, post 90 has to be Aristo's, Rusty?!
That was brilliant - made me laugh!

Och, that's a pity, Elle!
You'll have to watch the cycling now!
Elle, SW19?
Now bear with me, as I am from the Northland.
SW means South West London, doesn't it?
And 19. Does that mean at least 19 areas in SW London?
Must be a big place!
So who are you going for today?
Roger and Popsicle?

Pigale, Tour going along nicely.
Roads a bit wet. One or two crashes so far.
I have been very interested in the Memorials and War cemeteries.
Makes you think.
