Elle 'n' Jazzgirl.
Here is another odd Scots word (it is in Chambers) for your collection! Yesterday was the first time I came across it in a lot of years.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-33434803

Just a quick post.
Young rusty: Please knock that phrase "as w as a jg" on the head. There are plenty of wise and well-read folk on here and I am not one of them. In fact I have put my "foot in it" more times than you've had hot dinners !
I have to leave shortly for my friend's funeral, so not sure whether I will be posting again today.
Have a good day whatever you are doing :).

I agree Rusty....they all seem to be getting quicker, stronger, faster, but nobody wants to question the reasons.

Aaaaaaaaaargh!
Heard it was a terrific finish to the stage y'day (Tony Martin breaking away with 3km to go, Sagan pulling Contador back to Froome after a split)...
Must get myself Freeview, I'm missing it all!

Rusty, I certainly have never heard that word before!
And yes, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, it is even in the 13th edition of Chambers!!

Yes Rusty, I remember A. Darrigade, even though I was fairly young in his heyday.

I remain open minded yet for I still reckon we have not seen any real cycling by the 'big names'. Bouhanni yes, but also why not Coquart, Greipel, Sagan and your choice Degenkolb - and who knows, why not even Cavendish ....?

As you can see, I am not really committing myself - have not seen enough racing yet. It would be nice to see Coquart win if only to bring Europcar Team in the front lines !

I wonder how Pinot is going to behave today; has he had his fingers slapped for behaving a little like a spoilt child, do you think?

PS - A Darrigade was born in 1929 and is still alive - just googled for confirmation - that must make him 86, if I can count !

Do you remember the French track/tandem pair Pierre Trentin and Daniel Morelon ? They were good....did they ever participate in any Tours?
