Morning Jazzy,

I've been wondering if, when you were in France, you ever had an opportunity of travelling a bit in the country?

Good morning, Pigale and Jazzgirl!
No, Pigale, you were quite correct to express a concern on the Dutch supporters. I know how much Le Tour means to all of France. I love the race, too.
You mentioned to Jazzgirl about the different styles of architecture etc in different parts of France.
I love all that too. Not only do we get to watch the race but are educated on various things as well. Today I am very interested in the Somme area and hope the race commentators point things out. Some times we even get a bit of unplanned comedy thrown in!.
One year a horse in a field got excited by the noise etc of the passing peloton and jumped the fence straight into the riders and galloped along with them. Chaos!
This year, Jazzgirl, the race may be decided on Alpe d'Huez, with the race ending in Paris the next day.
It has been enjoyable so far, Cancellara apart!

Hello, Albie!
Yes, tennis players are no different from other sportspeople. Doping goes on.
Proving it is the problem, and do the authorities actually want it stamped out?
A thorny problem!

Good morning all!
Interrupting and going back for a moment to Kenyatta's suggestion to have separate threads for different interests eg. cycling, tennis.
I think it perhaps advisable to stick to the one "Chatty" thread as Norah seems happy with this format? (as Jazzgirl has very wisely already pointed out in post 1831)
It's easy enough for anyone not interested in a particular topic to skim past it.
This thread has Admin's official "seal of approval" - why rock the boat?

The summer sport season is fairly short so it doesnt really take over the forum.Next week it is wall to wall golf and my favourite cricket then we lose it to football

Good day, Elle!
You were missed yesterday!
For what it's worth, I agree with one "Chatty" thread.
It meets Norah's approval or we would have heard otherwise, surely.
"As Jazzgirl has very wisely pointed out"
This could give rise to a new saying,
"As wise as a Jazzgirl"?
And what is this story regarding Djokovic shouting at a ballgirl?
And, I noticed last week, he never says "thank you" to the ballgirl/boy who kindly offers him a fresh towel regularly. Tut, tut!

Quite so, Doglet!
The sports interests change with the Seasons! there is no need to become involved in a particular discussion if you have no interest in it.
Like I don't have in cricket!!
Plenty of other topics to talk about.

Hi again,

On the subject of one thread or several threads, I will follow whatever the majority wants but personally, I think one thread only has my preference.

I often broach several different subjects in the same post and that would mean sending sometime three or even four different posts at any one time; I would then feel that I am invading the Forum with my name appearing everywhere!

Rusty, have you got a favourite for today?

Morning, Rusty!
How are you today?
It's much cooler here, and somewhat dull. But we didn't get the rain that Wimbledon did yesterday - I was surprised when the tennis was rained off briefly- we're only ten miles away and it was bright and sunny here!
What's it like in Dundee this morning?
You won' t manage to rile me with your remarks about Djokovic! I shall not rise to it!!
Actually, I don't think he was shouting at the ball girl - rather being cross with himself and she was in close proximity - but he has said that he will apologise to her if he upset her.
But remember I am not a Novak fan, but a Federer supporter!
Some very good matches scheduled today...Mens' Quarter Finals day.
But (apart from Doglet) I'm a lone voice whispering in the wilderness......

Pigale, I hope to see a break going away.
Now and again one will work!
But, I chose John Degenkolb yesterday, and he was second, so I shall stick with him today.
The sprinters will be licking their lips!
Do you remember Andre Darrigade?
He is my all time favourite sprinter.
Wonder if he is still alive?
Who are you for today? Bouhanni?
Time for a French win!
Elle, it is coolish today. Nice breeze from the sea.
No, I did not see the Djokovic incident.
Just read about it.
I think the ballboys and girls do a superb job.
I often think Mums and Dads must watch with tremendous pride. They are always immaculately turned out!
