You are quite correct about 'hangouts' - I believe that they are indeed very similar to Skype.
My daughter has been trying to persuade me to join her 'hangout'!
So far I've resisted - Skype is enough for me!

I agree with you in that Skype performing very well, (except when connection goes funny), I don't see the point of trying another way which may prove not as good. Besides, and that's a very stupid reason, I do not like the term 'handout' !


What are you going to watch when the Tennis stops? It might be just in time for the beautiful sceneries of the mountain areas in the Tour...?

Due to inclement weather I only made it to ASDA and home.
My old Mother was a bit like that with the golf.
She would not know jack Nicklaus from a hole-in-one but loved the scenery.
I think last night was the dance.
No word from Miss L P, yet.
Apparently, Mum has great stuff for sore throats.
Old GrandDads have to remember their place in the pecking order!

I don't use Hangouts or Skype.
I can't even find Hangouts in "settings", so it is a bit of a mystery!

Just a thought Rusty:

If you and your grand-daughters all installed and registered with Skype (it's free), you could speak and see each other for hours, all for free! eg you could take news of Miss LP and see for yourself how she is.

I am sure the younger generation would help you with the downloading etc ... You would need speakers and a small camera, but I don't think that would amount to much ...? (need to check)

Honestly, it is great and easy to use once you have been shown.

We've just had a bit of rain - it lasted 5 min max ! and it does not really feel any cooler, except that since there is no sun beating upon us, it must have taken a few degrees off.
Thunder storms due to the North of us, so that might be the very edge.

I don' t usually watch very much TV, though, as a rule. Wimbledon fortnight is different! I stay in for that!

Well, I have no further excuse for not getting out the hoover - sorry, the Dyson! - and doing some cleaning! Dog is walked, Jumbo GK crossword is done ,husband is in the garden, putting in some plants that we bought yesterday.
Only one tennis match showing at the moment - Troicki v Dustin Brown - , so now is the time to 'tidy up' before the serious stuff starts!
Family coming tomorrow so better get jobs done today!
