JG, does the hospice have its own shop? I sold some gold at one of those shops; having looked up the price of gold and tried to do a calculation of its being 9 carat, I thought the price I got was reasonable. On this recent holiday I learned that "carat" comes from the weight of a carob seed!
Have seen a picture of smiling grandson less than an hour after surgery, with plaster almost up to shoulder. I hope he continues to jump off swings! Going home today and school on Monday, apparently.

hi Ros
Yes, there is a shop in the foyer of the hospice. I've donated and bought several items there. I am making enquiries.
Grandson can show off his plaster and get it signed by all his friends :)

Good morning, Elle!
A reasonable day up here. No rain, anyway!
Any further forward with "the wallet"?
Have you looked under bed and furniture etc where your husband may change clothes?
That is a good link that Jazzgirl has posted for you, too.
Be proactive and who knows, it may turn up!
I have just been to butcher for a steak pie!
They are excellent!

Good morning, Rusty!
Pouring with rain here!
I got drenched out on my walk as the rain was unexpected!
I had neither raincoat nor brolly!
No, no more news on the wallet!
I had checked out emailing the police, last night, after I had mentioned that possibility to you........
The Met website said there is no need to contact the police if the lost item has a name and/ or serial number on it.
In such an instance , the police would take it upon themselves to trace and notify you were the item found.
Both Credit card and Freedom Pass are thus identified.
I am not holding my breath though.......!
A steak pie sounds good!
With lots of thick onion gravy?

Jazzgirl, thank you.
That was most kind of you.

Ros, are you away over to see your grandson this morning?
Do you know anybody "famous" who might sign his cast?

elle- he is still in hospital awaiting discharge. I may be able to go this afternoon, if he is home by then. The only famous person I know is not so to 7 year olds! And is a long way away for a while. Good idea, though. I am wondering what to get him that he could do.

Ros, how about jigsaw puzzles/ painting by numbers / weaving?
Amazon do some good "Painting by Numbers" kits that are age-bracketed.
I know he isn't keen on reading, but maybe a "new" author whom he hasn't tried?
If he doesn't like the children's Classics, then how about good old Enid Blyton?
My grandkids love "The Famous Five"!

Hello, Elle,
It is a fine day here now.
Hope it will be a nice weekend!
Now, regarding the "wallet"!
You do not know if the credit card and Freedom Pass are still in the wallet.
If it were me, after a thorough search of your home and motor car, I would report it to the police.
A visit to the "bobbies" would do harm.
Now, my steak pie.
There is gravy in the pie, but I doubt there is an onion in it?
Why do you think there would be onion gravy with it?

Good ideas, elle. I have a lovely puzzle of the planets he has only done once, so will take that and a Famous Five book if I can find one. I have Five Go to Brexit Island or some such!!! Perhaps not. If there is a painting by numbers of Pokemon characters or Slugterras, may get that. Thanks.

Hi, Rusty!
The rain here stopped for a little while......but has started again now......
I may not venture out again!
(I have already had one complete change of clothing, as I was so wet!)
Take "one" sounded okay to me?
Now......onion gravy!
I wasn't assuming that there would be onion gravy already IN your pie!
I was asking whether you were going to eat the pie WITH onion gravy ie make some onion gravy to pour over said pie!
That, you see, is what I would do, were it my pie!
(Gosh, all this talk of steak pies is making me feel hungry! and I don't normally eat lunch!)
I have been chatting on the phone on and off all morning!
Daughter has just called, as she was taking an early lunch hour, to fit in with a conference call .

You're welcome, Ros!
If I have any more "brainwaves", I'll tell you!
