Hi, Rusty!
I am not a great television viewer either, as I too prefer reading!
But I do have somewhat of a weakness for a good serial.......I think it is the fact that there is continuity.....
And of course, I have my daily dose of "Eggheads"!
I have to smile at Miss L-B's assurances that Granddad will drive her to work!
It is nice that she knows she can rely on your help....and, of course, the pleasure of your company!
Our printer is still working!

Good morning, Rusty!
Today began wet......but we now have a fine day here!
Pleasantly warm in the sunshine.
Did you take Miss L- B to work this morning?
Our plans for the day have collapsed!
It was our intention to go to Ikea this morning.........browse around, buy a few necessities and have lunch there......
But a phone call from the GP put an end to that ........
My husband was required for a flu jab at 11.20 pm.
I though I had better say that he would go!
It is not often that they ring around for "custom"!
More usually , I have to phone well in advance and make him an appointment!
Have you done your crossword?

Good afternoon, Elle!
Fine day here, too.
Mum took Miss La Bamba to work, I am collecting her.
Funnily enough, I got a letter today from NHS Scotland, advising me to get the 'flu jab.
Yes, my puzzle is finished.
15d is simply dreadful!
Time for a coffee, been quite busy today!

Hi, Rusty!
Our day went from bad (well, inconvenient with the flu jab!) to worse...... as my husband lost his wallet containing money, credit card and Freedom Pass!
After fruitlessly making various phone calls..... and retracing his steps........
The Credit card has been cancelled.......money waved goodbye.......and the travel pass (if it doesn't show up at some stage) will duly have to be replaced!
"How NOT to conduct one's day"!
We have just been for a walk....
I always walk when problems rear their heads!
It is my "safety valve" mechanism!!
I haven't even looked at the crossword!

Hello, Elle,
What desperately bad luck your husband had!
Was it outside this happened?
Well done on cancelling the credit card!
I have not lost a wallet, but on two occasions I have withdrawn money at a cash machine and walked away without the money.
I was lucky because the machine took the money back in, and the bank sorted out my blunder!
I am just home from "Driving Miss La Bamba"!

Oh that's very bad luck, elle. Last time I phoned to say I'd lost my vredit card, I was able to put a stop on it so when i found it a while later in tescos, I could reawaken it. It is a really unpleasant thing to happen.

I just got back from Portugal to fnd grandson is awaiting surgery for badly broken left arm- he fell off a swing. He's been in hospital for 28 hours with almost no food or water.

It was a good holiday, recommend Southampton Airport and Flybe. Very hot for doing the walks, though, up to 31 degrees!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it was all very unfortunate!
And he has no idea when or where this could have happened, Rusty!
He left here this morning to go down to the surgery......and after that called in at Sainsburys and a couple of other shops.
He paid cash whilst in the shops... not using his wallet.
So presumably the wallet got pulled out of his pocket somehow en route?
It could even have been on the street.......
Still, the main thing is that the Credit card was promptly cancelled!
I expect you have your son with you now?
And you are both enjoying a good "chinwag"!

Hello, Ros!
Welcome back from your holiday!
I am so sorry to hear about your grandson's broken arm.
It does sound nasty!
I hope he is soon on the road to recovery.

If he didn't use it whilst out Elle have you checked yesterday's clothing?
Did he definitely take it with him? Is it in the car?

Thank you elle. I believe they have given up for this evening, so let's hope he can have a drink and something to eat. I believe they have given him painkillers and put on a plaster to prevent further damage. His Mum rolled up a magazine and put his arm in that and a sling to go to hospital, which I'm sure was a great idea.
