Elle, I am sorry for your husband's loss.
The same thing happened to my husband years ago.
We retraced his steps and cancelled his cards.
Later that day, I had to use his car to drive to a friend, and I had to adjust the driving seat backwards, as my legs are longer than his. As I did so, there was his wallet lodged under the seat. I guess you may have already looked in and under the car ( and prayed to St Anthony .....no Joke !

Yes, Andy, I thought of that!
We searched everywhere - including clothing and car - just on the off chance he didn't take it out with him!
(although he says he did!)

Anybody getting a credit card will try use it immediately with a debit card it's easier on line. Just watch your accounts I'm sure it will turn up unless he's been pickpockets. Hope it turns out OK.

Hello Elle!

It certainly is unlucky (and worrying) for you and your husband to
be missing a wallet; good the card was cancelled, but I hope there
was not too much cash in the wallet.

But you know, there are some honest people about - granted, not
many any more - so who knows, perhaps you will be contacted
either by the Bank or by the Police to say that someone has handed the
wallet it there.

Hi Rusty, Hope you are OK

and Rosalind, sorry about your grandson's injury! I assume he will
need surgery if he has not been fed/watered? Good luck to him
and to you and family. BTW, Portugal is gorgeous!

Thank you for your good wishes and reassurances. I'll let you know later what happened, the bones may need pinning.

I loved Portugal, Pigale, it was my second time there on a walking holiday. Very hot for walking but lovely scenery and saw some amazing birds, like a flock of (white) flamingos. Nice to have company, too.

I got tripped up and pickpocketed in Naples. Should have worn my money belt, which I have ever since. Even took my return train ticket! Police couldn't care less.

Hello, Elle!
Lots of sympathy for you and your husband on here, anyway!
You didn't "tidy it away" into a drawer when you were doing housework?
There are honest folk out there, much more so than the other kind, I've always found, so your husband may be lucky and get it back.
Let's hope so!
Have you phoned the police about it?
I knew you would twig the "Driving Miss Daisy" remark!
I have not seen the film...yet!

Rosalind, I hope your grandson mends successfully!

Hello, Pigale, All well here and I trust you are the same!
