Hi, Rusty!
Well!
Such excitement!
Yes, our Women's Relay team did very well indeed!
A Silver medal!
Well done, them!
But the men........I did wonder if we might do it?
The pundits in the Studio were all expecting the US to win..... but our GB and NI team got the Gold!
Hats off to Adam Gemili ....he gave his team such a lead.......
Each individual did so well!
I am hoarse with yelling encouragement!
Well done, all!
A pity though for Usain that he had to go out with an injury..... Jamaica would never have won, but it was a shame that it ended that way.
What an evening!

Hello, Elle!
Team GB & NI sprint relay teams were very good indeed!
I do not know any of their names but they were impressive!
Shame for Bolt, and Jamaica were well out of it.
Eilish has been tweeting all evening.
She has been very supportive of her team mates, and very, very, excited!

A Very good morning to you, Rusty!
A lovely day here - blue sky, sunshine and warm(ish)!
Great out!
I am just about to take a look at the Everyman and have a cup of coffee......
I'm looking forward to a day of Athletics later on.......

Good day, Elle!
Great morning here!
I am not long home.
I was out on the Nature Trail earlier.
Bad move!
Should have remembered the girls and their horses are there on Sundays.
There is a stables not far off.
My day of rest from crossword puzzles!
I hope to catch some of the athletics later.
I have the two Dundee Hawks to cheer on in the womens'5000 metres!
I do not think either will get a medal though.
A PB for Eilish would be a great achievement, though!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, a good programme ahead for today's Athletics.
I shall make the most of the last day, and watch as much as I can fit in!
I would think that the Women's 5000m would be a closely run race for the Gold meda,l between Helen Obiri and Almaz Ayana?
What do you think?
Although obviously I am hoping that Laura and Eilish will do well!
I think that race is on later in the evening?
The Everyman was disappointingly too easy again today!

Hello, Elle,
Yes, i have the events which interest me noted down.
I concur with you regarding the Gold in the 5000.
Our girls will run their socks off, we know that, but I doubt that they are medal quality, yet.
I would be delighted to be shown to be wrong though!
I hope for a great run from Eilish, especially.
She has lost her funding from GB, and a strong run may regain it for her (though I have no idea how it works!)
They race at 19.35.
The womens 800 is at 20.10 and I shall be cheering on everyone/anyone to beat Lynsey Sharp!
Elle, I gave up on Everyman several years ago for the very reason you have mentioned.
Just too easy.
The Sunday Times is a better puzzle, though not quite as good as the daily puzzles.

Hi, Rusty!
Eilish's recent performances have been most impressive!
I think (hope) she will put up a good show this evening!
Laura hopefully will do better, too - she appeared very tired and run out in her last race.
But should be recovered by now?
I know nothing at all about athletes' funding?
Does it come from the National Lottery?
Now.....I do not like Lynsey Sharp either.......but I can put that aside when she is running for her country, as happens in the World Championships.
If she can get us another medal, then I am happy for her to do so!
We are well down the League table as it is.
Today is my younger daughter's Wedding Anniversary!
Her husband is taking her and the children out for a celebratory meal!
They are going to the "Giraffe World Kitchen" restaurant (very child -friendly) at the O2 where they went once before.
(Do you remember I found one in Bromley, too, and she and I took the children there?)
A wide choice of food from different countries.

Hello, Elle!
Liz McColgan says Eilish has a game plan!
Liz is her coach.
The funding money comes from on high and the Lottery plays a part as far as I know.
Elle, you are welcome to have Lynsey Sharp win for your country.
She does not represent me in any shape or form.
I can not be doing with people like her.
I think I'll cheer Caster Semenya, or Angelika Cichocka.
But, anyone but Sharp will do me.
My sports favourites come from many different countries.

Hi, Rusty!
I do so agree with you in many respects.........
Yes, my favourite sports stars come from different countries, too!
Especially tennis personalities.
As you know, Roger Federer is a great favourite of mine! and I like Rafa and Novak, too.
And in the past, I would support John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg and Boris Becker, and Stefan Edberg, to name but a few!
And the same with the women's tennis, although their more complicated surnames are harder to remember!
And where Wimbledon is concerned, I support the individual rather than his/ her nationality.
But in a "country" event - such as the World Championships or the Davis Cup, for instance - then I would automatically "gun" for our own team member to win!
Regardless of whether I liked/ approved of him/ her.
I suppose it is putting the good of the country above my personal likes/ dislikes?
But I do understand how strongly you feel about Lynsey Sharp.....so we shall not argue about her?
Just popping out to buy the Sunday Times!

Hello, Elle!
I have my own standards and they do not include cheering people like Sharp no matter what vest she wears, or who she is representing.
