Jazzgirl, Lomax rings a bell!
I knew it had something to do with a a Rousseau opera but if you told folk that they would maybe not believe you!
No, do not post it or go to any trouble, you have done just Jim Dandy up to now!
I do not know all the words but am getting very suspicious of Aunt Rhody.
I have an idea she was after the Old Grey Goose's feathers to make a quilt or somesuch!
I am very surprised that Joan Baez would sing a song about such a person!

She wanted it for her feather bed :( If you have ever slept on one, you will know how scrumptiously cosy and comfy it is. My grandmother had one.

I'm having trouble with my Hudl... says there is an error and cannot connect to the proxy server?
Am using desk top now, but - disaster - cannot see the tennis form here!!!
So leaving you both for a while so I can watch Heather play.... will join in again if Hudl behaves itself!

Yes, Jazzgirl, I accept that.
But I am sure your grandmother did not organise a hit on an Old Grey Goose to get one?
I would rather stay cold!

My version says she died of a tooth-ache in her head, but not sure if that's the goose or Aunt Rhody.
Most versions say she died upside down in a mill pond (the goose that is) More ice in the drink please.......

Thanks for posting the link ChrisE
Being a Lonnie fan, I thought I had all of his recordings, but I have never seen the Goose one.
Might have to gander off soon.....

No, Elle, your geography is quite good.
Dundalk is about 50 odd miles North of Dublin on the Border.
I am cheering this lad playing Cilic now!

The Old Grey Goose was found in the millpond.
Elle, just switch Hudl off and on again.
Should be fine.
