NOW according to Chambers ,
"dubbing" (a verb) is "to rub a softening and waterproof mixture into (leather)"
"Dubbing" can also be a noun, as is "dubbin"
meaning "a preparation of grease.
MY Chambers doesn't give "dubbining!
