Hi, Rusty
!I found today's puzzle relatively reasonable ...unlike yesterday 's which I found decidedly "odd" and didn't even finish.....
Was that just me?
Or did you find yesterdays' 15 x 15 a little strange?
But now, today's........
2d: Source of disappearance; large , marine but mysterious?(7,5)
Bermuda triangle = source of disappearance (definition )
Anagram of d + "large marine but"
BUT the "d" is also a part of the definition?
Is that allowed?
(Or is my reasoning adrift?)
And one more query......
27a: Rained freely , swamping spot in a water conduit (5-4)
I have "drain -pipe" = water conduit (def)
Anagram of "rained"......
but where does "pip" come from?
All the rest is "done and dusted "!

Hello, Elle!
I think "mysterious?" is the definition.
The question mark gives it away for me.
The disappearances in the "Bermuda Triangle" are not any different from disappearances elsewhere.
An urban myth, I think. There is nothing in that area causing disappearances.
A "pip" is a "spot", on a domino, or dice, for example.
Possibly other meanings too, but they spring to mind.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear!
I was way off beam there with my definition...although at least that left the way clear for the rest of my parsing to be correct.
And I couldn't see "pip" as "spot" in the other clue.
Thank you very much for your help.
I am away out now to feed a friend's goldfish, whilst she is away on holiday.
I am surprised that she trusts me as her last (two) fish died on me!
I do not think that I did anything amiss though, as my own goldfish will be 27 years plus, this coming Christmas!
I must be doing something right there!
I shall be back very shortly to check on the tennis........

Hello, Elle!
Good luck with the goldfish.
27 years seems ancient for a goldfish?
Are you sure it is the same one?
A spelunker is someone who explores caves as a hobby.
Never knew that either.
I am going to see if I can place a wee bet on Wimbledon.
Jamie Murray and Martina Hingis to win the mixed doubles.
What do you reckon?
The golf from Portstewart is good.
I like the course!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I've just looked in the nest...only one osprey there!
Now.....the oldest goldfish on record died at 43 years of age , according to the Guinness Book of Records!
But I am at a loss as to how one proves the age of a goldfish to an authority?
However, yes, mine is very definitely 27 this coming Christmas!
I have only the one fish - the girls bought him for me when my elder daughter was but 10 years old!
We don't know how old the fish was when we got him, which is why I said 27 years PLUS!
He is very much a part of the family and seems very interested in whatever is going on, always coming to take a look if any of us go near his bowl! (which sits on my bookshelves)
I talk to him regularly!
I reckon you are onto a good thing if you back Jamie and Martina........but do not forget that Heather and her previous partner will be defending their last year's title.......
And Heather seems to be on a roll......
I watched Novak win!
Unfortunately, Del Potro has just gone out!
I am glad the golf is going well.

Hello, Elle!
Go you to YouTube, and type "PH2 Fledging" into search box and you will see the flight!
I did not think goldfish would take any interest in folk?
Paddy does not have odds for the mixed doubles yet.
So...
Heather is going great!
Golf is fine.
I have le Tour on just now though.
Looks like it will be a bunch sprint and hopefully no more controversy!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I have followed your instructions and have just watched the chick's first flight!
How lovely to see her soar forth with such confidence!
I am awaiting Roger's match.......the women are still playing on Centre Court at the moment.
I am keeping a weather eye on that match, and flicking over to watch Simon and Thiem play on Court One.
I shall need to think about dinner soon...it is too hot to eat much......maybe we shall just have a salad......
Oh, I forgot to ask, did you enjoy the trout?
Your son will be coming to see you shortly?

Hello, Ros!
Yes, I used to like Charles Dance, too, in his heyday!
I don't know the programme that you mention?

Was smashing seeing the chick take off.
Her confidence seems to have left her for she has not returned!
She is sitting on a branch on a nearby tree.
I have the Irish golf on.
It is good!
