Hello, Elle!
No, I will not watch the BBC's anniversary programme.
I am not too keen on the BBC as an organisation.
Especially the News department.
But like most of us, I am lumbered with them.
Roger is favourite to win with Paddy P.
Then Nadal, then Murray.
Laura Robson is 500-1 to win the Ladies!

Hi, Rusty!
Uhmm........but I wasn't considering it as "supporting" the BBC, or sharing in an anniversary celebration, but rather as a chance to listen to some of my favourite tennis players?
I liked Pete Sampras , too.
I thought him a quiet unassuming brilliant player.
I shall watch!
I think the last thing Laura Robson won must have been the Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympics, when she played Mixed Doubles with Andy Murray?
I don't think I have heard much about her since then?
Yes, Roger first, Rafa (or Novak) second would do me nicely!
I'm still hoping for Jo to take the Ladies' title.

Hello, Ros!
Yes, I can understand your frustration when tennis is on all the time - and you do not like it!
But I shall wallow in it!
And hopefully thoroughly enjoy it!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, of course you must watch your programme.
It is me who dislikes the BBC.
So, I tend not to watch their programmes, especially News and Current Affairs.
Laura had a wrist injury for a while.
She may still have it.
I seem to remember a story that there was something in her wrist that they could not fix?
A permanently broken bone, or something.
I hope she wins on Monday, but who knows....

Good morning, Rusty!
What began as a very wet morning.......it was absolutely pouring down when I got up......is showing signs of becoming very pleasant now.
The sky is turning blue and the sun is beginning to shine!
I am drinking coffee ...... and going to do the "Everyman"!
Then a walk later towards lunchtime.
After that, watching the various Athletics events this afternoon.
A well -planned (self- indulgent) day!

Good morning, Elle,
A fine breezy day here!
I was out earlier to Blairgowrie (just 8 miles from the loch).
No sign of Laddie!
You have plenty athletics to occupy you today!
I have Le Tour on (huge crowds watching and it's free!)
Valverde has a broken kneecap after he crashed out yesterday.
Then the golf in evening time.
Hard to call the winner there.
The South Korean girls are going well.
Lexi is 5 off the lead, as is So Yeon Ryu (world no 1), Brooke Henderson just 3 off.
We shall see!
There is a good story about So Yeon Ryu.
She is South Korean, but has an Aussie caddie, who she has learnt a lot of English from.
But her caddy, Tom Watson, has a lot of salty Aussie expressions in his vocabulary, and So Yeon Ru has innocently picked them up, which makes her TV interviews quite interesting!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
It has turned into a beautiful day - very warm.......mid twenties - with blue sky and sunshine!
We have been to the local Country Park.
Back now ready for an afternoon of Athletics!
I have missed the prior Diamond League programme, but will watch it later.
World Championship Trials just now.......
You were out and about early this morning......
I think there is a Blairgowrie near Melbourne in Australia?
I am sure that I have heard one of my old flatmates (she hails from Melbourne) mention it.
What are you up to at the moment?
Is it still Le tour?
(Who has broken what this time?!)
I think I shall have an ice cream........

Hello, Elle,
Blairgowrie is around 16 miles north of me, not in Australia.
Le Tour lasts three weeks.
Yesterday was the first day.
Alejandro Valverde of Movistar has fractured a kneecap when he crashed yesterday.
He has had an operation to fix it, but is out of the Tour.
At the moment I am watching the race.
Earlier, they passed a large museum sort of place which was all about Neandertals.
Not sure what goes on in there, but I shall try to find out.

Never mind an ice cream! I think I could do with a cup of hot Viandox
(like bovril soup)!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I should have said "another" Blairgowrie"!
There is some very lovely countryside around where you live.
It doesn't seem to matter which direction you take. you are in the midst of it?
We have a lot of very large parks about...and Commons ...but have to go much further afield to find what I would call genuine countryside.
The Time Trials are not very exciting...most of the names are unknown to me.
I guess we are in flux... a lot of up and coming youngsters.
Time was , the team trials would be fiercely contended by the "big names" all vying for a place!
I had forgotten that Le Tour lasted for so long a period.
I shall have to refer to the notes that you gave me, in order to refresh my memory as to how it all works!
The ice cream was good!

Goodness, Pigale!
It must be unusually cold in your neck of the woods, for you to be requesting hot soup?
Your temperatures are most often way above ours.
Like Rusty, I expect you will be watching the cycling?

Hello, Elle,
I learn quite a lot watching le Tour.
Today was about the Neandertals in Germany.
The route today is Dusseldorf to Liege.
Many interesting things to see on the way.
I remember last year was the airman in his parachute hanging from a church steeple.
That happened during the war.
Think it was somewhere in Normandy, near the landing beaches?
Pity the athletics are not what you hoped for.
I can't recommend the cycling, for sure as God made little green apples there will be a big crash and you do not like that!
Lucky you with the ice cream!
