Hello, Elle!
You may well be correct regarding punctuation, unless they were her husband's grandchildren and not hers?
Usually though, the children would get a mention in the obituary.
But not in this one.
I think I am on the hens side in this one!
I have finished the puzzle.
Was quite a good one.
But there is a dreadful alleged homophone in 4d.
We have had it before.
Yes, best not keep BB waiting.

My TV remote is getting overheated this afternoon as I am trying to follow the cycling, cricket and golf at the same time - 3 of the 5 sports I follow. Fortunately the 4th - rugby union - was all done and dusted this morning!

Simpler tomorrow - golf, then try to guess when the sprint finish in the cycling will happen. Of course I may have to garden (or cook) as well....

The box then went into a sulk and I had to reset it - it obviously felt overworked too!

Didn't miss much on the cycling. Apparently Geraint Thomas has set the fastest time so far, without once appearing on screen.

Good evening, Rusty!
We had a great afternoon at the fete, but have only just arrived home!
The traffic was terrible.....backed up solid...what should have been about a forty minute journey took nearly hours!
We are shattered! (and I only sat there, being driven!)
It was a very well-organised occasion , mainly geared to entertain the children , which was good.
And at sensible prices for the bouncy castles/ games etc.
So many of these Summer fairs are full of fancy stalls selling fairly expensive goods to the parents !
BB had a great time - and YB did what he could!
(I don't think anyone has told him he is only 15 months........)
Can you believe that I forgot to record the Eastbourne Finals?
But I see that Djokovic won!
This maybe augurs well for him for Wimbledon?
How did your afternoon of sport go?

Hello, Chris!
You sound as though you've spent as much energy struggling with your control box, as have the sportsmen in their respective fields!

Welcome home, Elle!
How did the "toe" cope with the bouncy castles?
Yes, the stalls have a captive market!
I was at Arbroath for an hour in early afternoon.
The bits of sport I saw were fine.
Great race at the Curragh for the Irish Derby.
Won for the umpteenth time by Aidan O'Brien.
Cycling was fine too, though I am not so keen on time trials.
I see Team Sky have changed their black tops for white ones!
Trying to look like the good guys!
The Ladies PGA is not on until later this evening.
Next week the golf is at Portstewart in Norn Iron.
I am looking forward to that!
My friends over there have a caravan next door at Portrush, but they are heading to Kissimmee, Florida.
Caravan is being used by friends who like the golf.
Well done, Djokovic!
Hope he goes well next week.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear!
I sat down on the sofa at 7.30pm, ready to watch one of my favourite shows........."The Voice Kids".......
And yes, you've guessed it!
I fell asleep!
I have only just awakened.....!
Fortunately, I had put the recorder on......so I shall watch it another time!
But not tonight though, or I fear I shall suffer the same fate again!
I don't think I must have got beyond seeing the first few singers!
Goodness, I am tired!
The toe?
Being on my feet all the afternoon has not helped!
I fear it and I may yet have to go see the GP!
You sound to have had a very busy afternoon yourself!
Has the Ladies' Golf started yet?
How is Lexi doing?
Yes, things are looking up for Novak.....but I should (of course) like to see Roger win the Wimbledon title!
I need a strong coffee.......

Hello, Elle!
Lexi has finished.
She is joint 6th, 4 shots behind Chella Choi and Danielle Kang.
All to play for tomorrow.
Some smashing players there.
The women's game in the US is improving constantly!
Did not you watch the Diamond League?
I think your toe will settle but it is a good idea to let your GP have a look at it?
Yes, I enjoyed my jaunt to Arbroath.
It is just around 17 miles up the coast.
I would like to see Roger win Wimbledon too, but is he getting on a bit?

Hey, Rusty!
Right.......I am (temporarily) awake........ it is good coffee!
No, I decided in favour of watching "The Voice...", as the Diamond League Highlights are being shown on BBC2 tomorrow., and I can watch them then (or later).
I already have the recorder set for both that and the British Team Trials for the World Championships.
And for the one -off Special about Wimbledon, hosted by Sue Barker , following all that on BBC1.
Sue talks to Roger Federer, Billie Jean King, Pete Sampras, and Martina Navratilova to mark 90 years of the BBC's coverage of Wimbledon.
Are you not interested in seeing that?
You could record it to watch later.
Roger getting "old"?
I think he is 35......but let's face it, Roger at 35 is hopefully a much better player than many of these up and coming youngsters?!
I have my fingers firmly crossed !

My TV will be largely off for the next few weeks!

There is an article in today's Times colour supplement by a cyclist, I think he's just written a book. It seems it doesn't matter how good you are, you can't win unless you cheat. He started with blood transfusions and went on from there. How corrupt and essentially stupid is that? If all competitors do it, then the person who wins has the cleverest "doctor".
