Hello, Elle!
I shall stay out of the weather!
Wind is getting wilder here and it is cold.
There is snow to the North and I wish it to stay there!
The relays? I have no idea what it is about either!
I think Christine Ohuruogu and Eilidh Doyle are taking part.
And there is a Triathlon from NZ later in the week.
I agree, Elle, about "Just Us".
They are growing on me.
Smashing young ones!
I look forward to seeing them again in the semis.
And I know it is "entertainment" but I felt the judges were very genuine in their comments about them, and Alesha, especially, was genuinely moved, I think.
A wee tear is never far away with Alesha!

Hi, Rusty!
Raining here! I thought it would eventually!
I am watching the World Relays, although I do not really know what it is all about........
It is interesting though to catch up with whom is running what for where!
The GB Men's team were disqualified though in the 4x100m Final for not passing the baton in time in the last leg.
There is a 4 x 200m race?
We do not have a team (men or women) for 200m?
I didn't, in fact, know 200m was a relay distance?
Oh...now they are running a 4 X 800m relay......!
I am puzzled.......I shall have to do some Googling later.......
This continues until 6 o'clock, when I shall have to go and sort out dinner!
You mention Alesha crying...I really like her though - I think she is very genuine.
And isn't Simon being "nice" this series?!

Good evening, Elle!
Maybe it is akin to the pole vaulting competition that was on a wee while ago.
Remember?
It appeared to take place in a large warehouse!
I thought there was only 4 x 100 and 4 x 400?
They had mixed relays a while ago, too.
Men and women in the same team.
I like Alesha, too.
She comes across as a nice person, so does Amanda... sort of.
I think that Julia touched Alesha's heart. Mine, too!
Simon must be getting soft in his old age!
That is the great attraction for me about BGT.
You never know who or what is going to walk on that stage!
I watched young Issy again.
She is a cracker!

Hey, Rusty!
I have been playing catch up with some TV programmes that I had recorded but never found the time to watch!
No, I was surprised to find 4 x 200m and 4 x 800m Relay races being run....usually as you say, it only 4x100 and 4x400 that we see in team events?
There will be more Athletic events soon on EuroSport Player.........
There is a Diamond League event in Doha on May 5th.
Hopefully this will be shown in its entirety.........last season, all the Diamond League events televised on BBC only showed (extremely rushed ) Highlights!
I should like to get my money's worth from EuroSports Player!!
The picture on my computer is quite good!
I checked on the ospreys earlier.
I think it was Laddie on duty.
A good picture on the webcam though.

Hello, Elle!
I have had a wee look at Diamond League schedule on Eurosport.
They are covering 10 of the initial 12 meetings, plus the finals.
The two they are not covering are at Birmingham and London.
Possibly BBC will cover those two?
First meeting they cover is at Doha, Qatar, next Friday, 5th of May.
So, that seems reasonable, do you think?

Good morning, Rusty!
We have a glorious day here - blue sky and sunshine - but it is extremely cold ...... only 2C!
Great out walking though.
Yes, the coverage of the Diamond Leagues by EuroSport Player sounds excellent !
I have to decide whether or not to continue with E.P after the end of the trial period.
£19-99 for a twelve month's trial...but then £59 -99 p.a., so a big difference in cost.
I am happy to pay that, though, if I consider the service worthwhile, and I get a lot of Athletics and tennis to watch.
What time is the funeral?
Will Miss O collect you?
I hope all goes well..........

Good day, Elle!
We had snow overnight but it is mostly gone now.
High winds, though, and boy is it chilly!
Miss O and me attended the funeral.
It was an excellent service.
It was conducted by a "civil celebrant", and she was first class!
You could try haggling with the Eurosport folk?
You will know over the summer how much athletics and tennis they broadcast.
I see Serena has spoken out about that Neanderthal, Nastase, making remarks about her unborn child.
And some of the women players are complaining about Sharapova being granted wild cards.
I agree with them!

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that the funeral service went well.
It is always a difficult time for everyone involved, but it helps if the service is delivered sympathetically and respectfully, as wished by either the deceased or a close remaining relative.
I am not quite sure how a 'civil' celebrant operates?
But one of my cousins had a 'humanist' ceremony.
Is that the same ...or similar?
This seemed to be with no religious theme, but was a 'celebration of his life' rather than expressing sorrow at his death?
I think one was expected to feel/ show joy at the effect his life had had on people rather than be sad?
It is the only time I have been to anything other than the more usual 'religious' funeral ceremony - but it seemed to go well and people said it was a lovely service.
I agree that Maria should not be given wild cards to re-enter the tennis world!
She does not deserve them!
She should have to work her way back!
I have read some of Serena's comments about "Mr Nasty"........she seems to have dealt very well with his disgraceful behaviour.
What are you up to for rest of your day?

Hello, Elle!
There was no mention of God at this service.
It was all to do with the lady's (a Yorkshire lass) life.
I thought it was very well done indeed.
Music was pieces by Faure, Enya, and "The Swan" by Saint-Saens.
I think "The Swan" is from "The Carnival of the Animals".
The lady "civil celebrant" was excellent, too.
I think Judy Murray has the right idea about what Nastase should do with his peace-making flowers!
Just had a canny day since the funeral.
Watching the racing from Punchestown.
Punchestown is the "Irish Cheltenham"!
Still very windy here.
There is a piece on BBC Text about EJ, the female osprey at Loch Garten, sitting on her eggs and being covered in snow.
Bit of a change from Africa!

Hello Elle and Rusty,

I have just had a peep at Loch Garten and EJ is still surrounded
by some snow!

Not quite as wintery here but a definite change after yesterday!
colder and dull.

My little bird in her nest over my garage door is very busy - quite a few of her eggs have just hatched and she has started feeding them.
I cannot count how many have hatched- they are so small and wriggle like worms! If all 13 eggs hatch, the parents are going to be very busy feeding their offsprings!
