Hi, Rusty!
The QC was easy!
I liked this clue ....it appealed to me!
15a: Tendentious show of affection for 13, perhaps? (8,4)
( The answer to 13 is "cabinet" )
So....... does any sport shown on your Eurosport TV channel automatically come onto Eurosport Player set up on the computer?
That will be great if it does and I can look forward to a tennis tournament!
What did you mean the other day when you said that I could try "haggling" with Eurosport?
Are they likely to be flexible over what they charge me for the Eurosports player if I query it?
Right....I must away now.......it is nearly time to leave and I have yet to change out of dog walking gear!
I shall catch up with you later.........

Hello, Elle!
I would imagine Eurosport Player will get the programmes that are showing on Eurosport 1 and 2?
The only way to see if Eurosport are up for a "haggle" is to try.
Many companies are up for a "haggle".
I have haggled cheaper deals with BT, EE mobile, Sky TV, car insurance, the AA, home contents insurance, my new carpets.
I find it worth trying, so do many others.
Have a go?

Hi, Rusty!
I am home again!
We went to Zizzi's for lunch.
Do you have that up your way?
It is a chain of Italian restaurants across the UK, so most probably you do?
I had lasagne...very tasty.
We had a look in Trespass where there was a Sale.
On a "Clearance" rack, I found three very nice padded Khaki- coloured hooded coats that would be great for dog walking next winter.
They were already reduced from £169-99 to £47-99.
But the one in my size was missing a zipped -on strip of fur round the hood, that the other two coats had.
I wasn't interested in the fur, but thought it worth seeing if I could get a further reduction!
I got another £4-80 (funny figure!) off the overall price..... so I ended up paying £43-19!
You should be very proud of me!
I think I "haggled" very well?
Oops! it is hailing.......they are whoppers!

Hello, Elle!
Fine afternoon here.
I do not know if Zizzi is here or not.
Yes, that was a good reduction at Trespass.
Well done!
The Regatta Outlet Store online is good too.
Miss Sharapova is up in the first set.
It is a strange venue at Stuttgart.
Sometimes it is all in darkness with purple lighting, like a disco.
Very unWimbledonlike!

Hi, Rusty!
The hail has gone...and the sky is blue and the sun is shining!
April showers "with a vengeance" today!
Do you realise that if Maria reaches Sunday’s Final in Germany, then she will qualify for the preliminary tournament at Roland Garros by right?
That is perhaps unlikely to happen as she has been away from tennis for so long....but what a disaster if it does!
If she loses before then, she will have to rely on the whim of the French federation president, Bernard Giudicelli.
I get the impression though that he is not all that keen on her?
I wonder what his decision will be on May 15th about her playing?
Caroline Wozniacki says that Maria's presence in Stuttgart is "disrespectful"!
Caroline is always one to speak forthrightly!
I think Maria may well be a "crowd-drawer" though!

Good evening, Elle!
I understand Miss Sharapova has won her match.
Her sponsors will insist she gets every opportunity and advantage going.
It is not Sport, though.
I hope she is not at Roland Garros!
Anyway, Eurosport is covering all Roland Garros, and Eurosport Player say they will have 15 channels covering all the courts.
Let us hope that is the case!

Hi, Rusty!
I was idly looking through Eurosport Player 's programmes a short while ago, when I noticed that Athletics was currently showing.....so full of excitement I clicked on the channel.......
Only to find that it was a Diamond league event in Brussels from 2016!
A little behind the times, is it not?
Does this often happen?
It wasn't showing in the "video" section., either, but on Eurosport 2.
I learned something new tonight when I was watching "15 to 1"........
The question was "Who was the Virgin Mary's mother?"
Now, I did not know any of this....but apparently Mary's mother was (Saint) Anne , who is also the patroness of unmarried women, horse riders and cabinet makers!
I learn something new every day!
Did you know this?

Hi elle
Ask most people who was the result of the "Immaculate conception", and (if they don't say "what") they will probably get the answer wrong.

Hello, Elle,
Yes, there will be many old programmes on Eurosport.
Look for the "Live" word in the programme heading and you will be OK.
No, I do not know Mary's Mum, I'm afraid.
I know Catherine is the patron saint of Siena, in Italy, though.
That was what I liked about the funeral I was at yesterday.
No mention of God or hymns or prayers.
It was a good service.

Hi again, elle
I'll give the answer,as I'm off at the crack of dawn tomorrow (we're staying with a friend in Koln). Mary was the result of the "Immaculate Conception", not Jesus. This was important in certain circles, as she needed to be "without stain".
