Hi, Rusty!
Having lunch with Miss O tomorrow will be good!
That way you will be able to enjoy the anticipation, as well as the actual deed!
No, I didn't solve my parsing.........
It is 9a: I have room service = provision of refreshments (def)
but cannot see the rest of it?
Now isn't it strange how different minds work?
I saw 4d straight away!
mire = boggy ground (def)
(e) mir (e)
And I liked 25a.
Short but effective!
"She" - "She who must be obeyed" from Rider Haggard's book.
Shem - Noah's son , minus m (aiden)
I don't have a problem with "Bern " sounding like "burn"?
Have you already been for your walk or are you about to go now?
We are carless, so have decided to go no further than the garden this afternoon!

Hi rusty
Good news - just got home to find a message from Colm which reads :-
"There has been so much interest in the music for Wild Ireland, there is now talk of a digital download compilation being put together ( Colm and Kilas tracks that featured) Will let you know if/when it comes about"

I can't wait..... :)

Hey, Rusty!
Guess what?
There was a question on "15 to 1" about the word "doolally" originating from Deolali, near Bombay!
How about that for a spooky coincidence?
We were only talking about that the other day!

Hello, Elle.
Yes, I am looking forward to my bacon roll tomorrow.
May even have a toastie for a change!
9A, my interpretation would be a that a small congregation would fit in a room for their service?
I agree with your definition.
Yes, 25 was good, but I had to go hunting for Shem.
Not sure if I had ever heard of him.
Bern and burn are pronounced quite differently where I live.
I was out for a walk and then went to see a cobbler to get my belt riveted.
Taking it canny now!

Hello Jazzgirl,
You seem to be the flavour of the month with Colm!
Well done!
it is very good of him to put you in the picture!
There is lots of Colm And Kila on YouTube.
I was watching the starlings again!

Hello, Elle,
Posts crossed.
It is often the way that something crops up a day or two after you have been discussing it, I've noticed!
What is at work?

Hello rusty
I have now watched the film. I have seen various murmurations, but none can compare with the one in Ireland. There must have been thousands in that one. Chris Packham once tried to explain how they are formed, but, as Colin said, it is best just to enoy the show and not try to analyse. I felt sad for the lonely male corncrake. (Loss of habitat again) The petition has over 27,000 signatures now.

Hellp, Jazzgirl.
The murmuration was incredible.
I have never saw one like that.
Yes, the poor corncrake.
Such is nature and the effects mankind has on it.
The photography was superb, I thought.
And Colin's simple reflection on everything.
An excellent programme!

I agree entirely Rusty.
This is my last post today.
I had to smile as I've just had another message from Colm.
I thanked him for keeping me up to date and he just sent me a
"thumbs up"(like)
I will have a look for the youtube music when I have time.
Good night all

Hi, Rusty!
We keep crossing with our posts!
Noah's three sons were Shem, Ham and Japheth.
They and their wives went with Noah - and all the animals - in the Ark!
Now for an update.........we have got our car back.
It has been duly serviced and has passed its MOT successfully.
Chris brought it back about 5 o'clock.
One thing to tick off the list of "What's to be done"!
Yes, its strange how things surface again after previous discussion - it's happened to us quite a bit recently!
There was also a question about Laura Trott ...but I've forgotten how it was formed . Her (maiden) name was the answer!
Any further news on the BC investigation?
