Hi, Rusty!
It is good that you had an enjoyable walk!
Mm, I am wondering just how effective my letter to the HMRC Complaints dept will prove to be?
There has not been a single answer, so far, to my replies in response to any of the monetary demands that I have received!
Other of course than to ask me for yet more money!
It is a mystery................do you suppose that anyone actually reads the mail....or does it go straight into the bin?
It should be a good day for the Athletics tomorrow!
Transmission starts on BBC2 at 8.30am
I shall miss the first hour or so though as I shall be out with the dog.
There is more later in the afternoon, but then we shall be attending YB's birthday tea!
However, all is not lost....I have already set the recorder and will spend the evening playing catch up!
I am looking forward to it!

Hello, Elle!
I would hope that your letters are kept on file at HMRC under a reference number pertaining to the whole case.
I found them very helpful when I 'phoned them, twice.
An early start for the athletics tomorrow.
I'll likely miss a bit, too.
And I have to go and see the nurse in the afternoon.
Should be good, though!

Good evening, Rusty!
Well, I have been in communication with the HMRC about this matter, off and on, since the end of 2015..........
I rather think they might be robots?
What is that thing called that you have to copy to "prove you are not a robot"?
A CAPTCHA?
Perhaps I should have been including one in my letters........
I have very little faith left.........
We had a burglary in our road yesterday.
There was a written communication from the local police pushed through every door today, warning everyone to be careful about house security.
Not a nice thought, is it, to think that someone has invaded your home?
And in this unfortunate incident, both the granddaughter and grandmother were in residence at the time.
Luckily, no -one was harmed, and when challenged the guys ran off!
We have since been warned not to "challenge" any intruder, though!
What is the world coming to, when you cannot even be safe in your own home?

Hi rusty
Are you watching the golf? I'm findng it very disturbing! Nick Dougherty is hosting. He was the captain of an under 12 rugby side I coached at school (I never taught him, but he was always a lovely lad) - and he's going bald!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, a CAPTCHA.
i am not at all sure how effective they are?
Before you run out of faith, I think you should 'phone them.
I have had success doing that.
A burglary must be a horrible experience.
Thankfully never happened to me, though I have had a car stolen, and written off.
I would wonder at your police "advice" though.
Are you expected to sit quietly whilst being burgled?
Fingers crossed none of us experience a burglary!

Hello, Chris,
I watched a bit of the women's golf in the afternoon, but had a visitor and the TV off in the evening.
Makes you feel old when you see young ones you've known losing their hair!

Hi, Rusty!
Actually, I did try to phone the Complaints department this morning to try to find out the address ( before I finally managed to run it to earth on the computer)
I was asked by an ''automated voice'' ( a robot?) to state what I wanted ........
I said "The address of the Complaints department, please "
The "automated voice" said "You cannot say that.... you must say bah, whatsit or thingummy......."
We didn't make much progress........
This is the second day running where I have bought a paper and not done any crosswords!
Did you do yours?
Anything strange or startling in today's 15 x15?

Hello, Elle!
That's who I dealt with to begin with, the automated speaker!
I replied "capital gains tax", and was connected to that department in several seconds.
I was impressed.
I had imagined I would be waiting in "queues" for half an hour or more.
Yes, I did the crossword.
Fairly tricky, up to the usual standard, I thought.
The chairman of the Parliamentary doping enquiry, Damian Collins, has apparently said that Wiggins will not be called to the enquiry.
I wonder why?
A very shady affair!

Good morning, Rusty!
Wet here!
It drizzled all our way around the park..........now it is raining heavily!
I am way behind this morning........
Unfortunately, I have missed the first few hours of the Athletics.....I have just switched on the television now........it is the Men's 800m heats.
But I am recording it all, so I shall just have to play catch up later on.
Are you watching?
I know there is a major cycle race that you want to watch as well.
What time does that take place?
And you have to see the nurse too today for your test results?

Good morning, Elle!
Lovely day here.
The camera is focused on the nest after the work they did yesterday.
I have watched most of the athletics.
Bike races are tomorrow, Strade Bianche, in Tuscany, then on Sunday it is the first stage of Paris-Nice.
Just watched Steph Twell, Eilish, and Laura.
Laura runs again at 16.05.
Yes, off to see the nurse later.
Miss La Bamba is taking me for a bacon roll tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
Still wet here.......
"The best laid plans of mice and men".....
I haven't really seen anything of the athletics this morning!
It has been "one of those days"......
My husband hurt his back on Wednesday - digging up the garden when I was out with our daughter!
I stress that I was out at the time, or I shouldn't have let him do so much digging!!
So he is moving....... but slowly and carefully!
Then neighbours have been round about the burglary up the road.
And then the phone has been ringing....
My morning "went to pot"!
I haven't yet seen any races of note!
I am going to attempt to sit down now - with a coffee - and watch some of it retrospectively, before we go out later to YB's birthday tea party.
We shan't need to leave till about 3.30 so I should have time to catch up!
Whew....deep breath and plod on!
