Hello, Elle,
I have not looked at 3 Men yet.
I have not read much lately, but still have A Walk For Sunshine to finish.
3 Men is in my "pile"!
I have not been out today but it has been a bit rainy.
No sign of the minus 10 weather we were threatened with!
BBC are showing the Birmingham Indoor athletics next Saturday.

Hi, Rusty!
My own book pile is diminishing fast - however, I still have "Alaska " - by our friend Mr M - to read at some stage!
It is at the Muller (I cannot do the umlaut!) Indoor Grand Prix, at Birmingham, that Laura is planning to break the next record, isn't it?
Remind me for what she is aiming?
And shortly after that, on March 3rd to 5th., we have the European Indoor Athletics Championships at Belgrade.
That also is being shown on the BBC.
But I don't know whether they will be full scale or only Highlights?
I wonder if they will also be on EuroSports Player?
Life is looking up!
I will have to record the first set of Athletics though as we shall have our (elder) daughter and the boys still staying with us next Saturday.
It is half -term!

Hello, Elle!
Laura appears to be attempting records for record breakings sake, though it may be good training for her.
She is attempting to break the 1000 metres record, held by Maria Mutola.
1000 metres is not a standard athletics event.
800 or 1500 are the standard distances.
I do not see the Birmingham event on the Eurosport schedule.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I remember Maria Mutola.........
She was basically an 800m runner?
But I was thinking rather that Svetlana Masterkova held the record for the 1000m?
But I might well have that wrong........?
My younger daughter has just sent me a link to the Children's Festival held over the half term at the Southbank Centre.
We are thinking of choosing an event to which we can take all the youngsters!
That would be good, don't you think?
We are thinking maybe the "lego" one..........
No cousin with whom to chat tonight.........she has a sore throat and cannot speak!

Hello, Elle!
We are at cross porpoises, I think!
Masterkova holds the outdoor record; Mutola holds the indoor record.
Indoor meeting at Birmingham, so it is Mutola's record that Laura shall attempt.
I have no idea about what goes on at the Children's Festival?
So, I can not suggest anything.
Now, something is intriguing me.
In my book, "A Walk for Sunshine", Jeff Alt is determined to get off the Trail, so he and most of America (he says) can watch the final episode of a TV programme called "Seinfeld".
Needless to say, I have never seen the programme, although the name rings a wee bell.
Any idea what it was about and why the final episode was so important to him and "most of America"?

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, I see!
I didn't think of the distinction between Indoor and Outdoor records!
I just had it in my head that Masterkova held the record for the distance.
But it is nice to know that I am not completely losing the plot.......(if a bit off kilter!)
The Children's Festival has a whole range of activities for children of all ages.
We shall choose something suitable for an age range of 5 to 9 to cover the boys' ages.
I think they will enjoy sharing an organised "activity".
The "lego building" is to be held (I think) in the Royal Festival Hall.
I have no idea about "Seinfeld"?
I am afraid that I have never even heard of it?
It is probably an American sitcom?....not the sort of thing I would watch.
Sorry I am of no help!
But if Jeff Alt was so determined to watch the finale, it must have been a big "draw"?

Hello, Elle!
Is the Festival at London?
I am wondering if the ospreys have left Africa yet?
They arrived in late March last year and they take around 45 days to make the trip.
So it could be Lassie has started out?
I liked "Friends", the US sitcom.
But I have no idea about Seinfeld.
There were several on the trail knew when the last episode was on and planned their trip so they could come off the trail at a town to get cleaned up etc and watch it.
Think it was at Harper's Ferry they seen it.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, the Children's Festival is being held at the Southbank Centre , which in on the south bank of the Thames, near Hungerford Bridge (which lies between Waterloo and Westminster Bridges)
Not too difficult to get to from here...I think we can take a mainline train and then walk the remainder of the way.
I shall investigate further!
I too liked "Friends"!
I also enjoyed "Ally McBeal" - so perhaps that was too sweeping a statement when I said I didn't watch American sitcoms!
I used to get newsletters from the "osprey folk".....but have heard nothing since Lassie's and Laddie's departures for Africa.
I have just signed up again for the updates...so maybe will hear something soon!

Hello, Elle!
Hungerford Bridge is new to me, and Southbank Centre!
I do not know Ally McBeal.
When my granddaughters were much younger I used to record episodes of "Two of a Kind" for them.
It starred twins, MaryKate and Ashley Olsen.
We thought it was great!
I still can not tell them apart!
It is pretty wet and windy on the loch this evening.
I had a look earlier.
I think Lassie arrived first last year, on the 18th March.
Laddie, a week later.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a beautiful day here!
Very cold, but we have blue sky and sunshine.
It was lovely out walking the dog.
I hope it as nice with you?
I have a lot of jobs - household tasks and paperwork - to do this morning, but I shall have my coffee, and apple and cheese, first and take a look at the easier cryptic puzzle.
The 15 x 15 I shall save for later after my chores are done.
How about you?
What are you up to, today?
