Hello, Elle!
Ach, you are almost there!
Chorister is an anagram of "hit recor(d)s".
BBC Scotland chose to put a Scottish football game on instead of athletics.
Mind you, I get all the BBC regional channels, anyway, if I did want to watch it.
That is good you got on fine with your neighbour!

Good morning, Rusty!
And how are you this morning?
It is still very cold here, but we are (so far) snow free, fog free and frost free!
All that has to be an improvement!
It is instead "muddy dog " weather!
I am drinking coffee and about to start the Everyman puzzle.
It looks set to be a fairly quiet day.
What are you up to, today?

Good morning, Elle!
Seems a not too bad day here.
No snow or frost, anyway!
So, yes, an improvement!
I am ready to watch the women's downhill.
Tina Maze has not long left as World Champion!
So, I have had a wee token bet on Tina Weirather.
Hope I have not jinxed her!
Good luck with Everyman, if you know what I mean!
Are you happy with "chorister" parse?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, sorry, I should have thanked you last night for the parse.......
but I think I went to sleep!
Yes, it is fine - I was thinking vaguely along the right lines, only I didn't see the anagram and I was looking to "add" the "D" rather than omit it!
I do not know Tina Weirather?
Have you mentioned her before?
I hope your bet is successful!
My brain is not in gear this morning.....I fear progress with the Everyman may be slower than usual!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, Tina Weirather is one of my favourite skiers.
But she is out of luck today.
Ilka Stuhec has won!
She is the new World Champ!
Tina Maze is delighted.
They are both Slovenians!
Lindsey Vonn won bronze.
She is wearing a super Mickey Mouse woolly hat!
You have all day to do Everyman!

Hi, Rusty!
I am sorry your bet on Tina W wasn't successful!
I did all but the SE corner of the Everyman , went away to do something else, came back and finished it off!
No problem!
Except for two to parse...but I like that .....it gives me something to "chew on"!
I shall watch the dreaded "Nitro" athletics at 1 pm, and then take out the dog.
That is most of the day already accounted for......
Oh dear...where does the time go?!
Are you going out for a bummel?

Hello, Elle!
Was just a little bet, to add a bit of spice to the downhill!
Great race, I enjoyed it!
Jonathan got put in his place by Lindsey Vonn!
He asked her what it was like to be the most mature American medal winner!
"Oh, you mean I am old, do you?", said Lindsey!
All in good fun, though!
I am home for the day.
Got one or two things to do.

Hi, Rusty!
Well, that is the Nitro Athletics over with......for now?
Bolt's All Stars won overall!
It is all a bit strange......
The programme began with the commentator asking "Is this the new take on track and field which could bring a whole new audience to the sport?"
And ended with "Will this be the future for Athletics? Only time will tell".
I sincerely hope not!
Yes, it was fun!
But is this what we want from Athletics?
I know I don't !
I enjoy the serious competition - and appreciate all the hard work and individual effort and training that has gone into making it so.
This could perhaps be an additional "fun sport" - but surely it will not replace what has gone before?
What do you think?
Ummm...... I need to calm down......I am going for a walk!
As Colonel Macarthur said....I shall return!

Hello, Elle,
Was he not General MacArthur when he said that!
The Nitro is a bit of fun, that's all.
We won't be seeing that at the Olympics!
Just saw a nice pic of Tina Weirather and Roger Federer on the ski slopes.
They are both big fans of each other!
Bits of rain on and off here.
I am staying home!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear, was he?
I did not intentionally demote him!
I think he said it of the Philippines when he was going to Australia?
I am unsure of his military status at that point?
We had a nice walk in that it was good to be out in the fresh air, but it was very cold and damp.
Good to be home again!
My last two parsings of the Everyman were not all that difficult once my brain kicked in........
How are you getting on with "Three Men in a Boat (to say nothing of the dog)"?
As I recall, Montmorency was fictitious!
