Thanks ixion for replying to my earlier post.
Yesterday I uninstalled Java and re-loaded it but it made no difference. However when I logged in to-day I am now seeing the full grid (minus all the answers that I had previously saved!). Such is life!

Thanks to everyone's help, I think I've nearly finished. Not sure about 13a. Novelist gets stuck taking drug (5) G?M?S. Are the letters right? Is it the M that changes?

Just worked out that the G was originally J.

24 D I have UNUSED and although the N makes 27A CUN (con) The E of CUE is needed for the last word of title. and UEUSED is I find not a proper word. Where have I gone wrong please. Prize crossy tomorrow and I want to wrap this one up. In anticipation.
