Druh6sm-

1a is a very dense clue.

Definition is 'provides illumination in a museum' although 'illumination' is a misdirection. Think less light source and more knowledge sharing.

Parses 2,5,3, though the 3 is inserted ('invested') into the 5 letter word.

First three words provides letters for the 3.

Gold gives the opening 2 letters.

The 5 is a word in the clue itself

9a is an anagram of the last two words of the clue. The solution is a general term for the second word of the clue.

I've read what others have said about 15a, but apart from outstanding I can't make any sense of the Italian bit. Help for someone a bitslow off the mark, please, or i can't go to bed!

@boboffduty - Parses 4,3.
An Italian 3-year-old is older than 2... Therefore they are...

(Look up what the Italian for 'two' is if you're still not sure)

Can someone explain the parsing of 7d? I've got the answer and it fits the clue, but what is the wordplay?

Italian for 'two' is 'due' so an Italian 3-year old is - over two (overdue). Fun clue I thought!

Yes, a good joke, but it doesn't fully work as "over" isn't a word in Italian! There are several words depending on context, but "oltre due" seems closest.

[Clue already "spoiled", so I think I can be specific.]
