I enjoyed this one. A lot of wit and just the right level of difficulty for a midnight stroll.
FOI 2, LOI the clever but perhaps Marmite 15.
COD? Tricky. I’ll plump for 26.

Still trying to parse 15, but I do like marmite, for the record.

The only other query I had was about 24, which is obvious enough once you have all the crossers, but doesn't actually seem to be a thing, at least in the couple of searches I tried. But wasn't motivated enough to really dig into it.

An enjoyable and quirky one. LOI 20a which was a phrase that I had not come across before.

Hi Samuipete, I didn’t know the expression in 24a either, though it’s in the ODE. It’s from the tv industry and means to go stale. The wordplay is an anagram.

(Sorry, that was for 20a, not 24a)

I did know 20A but would not have defined it as going stale, rather to reach an unprecedented level of absurdity. It's from an episode of Happy Days wherein The Fonz does exactly this!

Clarkgwent, yes I just read that, in fact on the Wiki page there’s a picture of the Fonz in action! :-)

Many thanks Jono, I completely missed the anag, hopeless!! I have the answer but agree or at least I don't really think it means to go stale.

Enjoyed this. Found it easier than usual.

Got 11a from the rhyme which was nice. I think it's clue as definition but I'm not totally sold on the last two words being a definition for the last 3 letters. Or am I missing something?
