Hi Havermonkey and a1philosopher, @83 and @84,
Bailey is doing wonderfully. Naturally Danny wanted to make sure he'd be well taken care of and, as one of his sister's partner is allergic to pets and the other one was too poorly to be able to take him for walks (she died a few weeks ago), I promised I'd look after him, which I did. Then, after a while, his sister told me that the couple who originally gave Bailey, who has a twin brother called Paddy, to Danny when he was a puppy, only really did so because Danny's brother, who he lived with, had recently died (I know right, how much sorrow can one family have!) and that, if I had no objection, they'd love to have him back and reunite him with Paddy,, so that's what ended up happening. They regularly send me photos and videos of the pair of them on WhatsApp and Bailey and Paddy look as happy as can be.
I do miss him, especially taking him over Wapping Woods for walks, which he absolutely loved. I also met more people in the few months I had him than I did since I moved here. Seriously, the number of total strangers that stop and talk to you when you're out with your dog is amazing.
