I’ve obviously caught an edge and ended up head down in a drift…lt’s happened more often than I would like - I remember one occasion when I cartwheeled about 75 metres and popped the central joint in my collarbone. When I tried to get up, both arms just flopped and eventually I finished the run looking a bit like a penguin. The local French GP dealt with it summarily, standing behind me, arms round my chest and then pulling against his knee braced on my spine. It worked - and, boy, did it hurt!
