Ish I was stuck on this for ages, I was inserting the "unknown" in the wrong place. It was my penultimate one in 16a followed seconds later.

Ish think of a common expression (not an actual proverb afaik) that is commonly used to complement someone who is slow in losing their temper... I think that's as far as I can go without it being an out and out spoiler!

Any pointers to the parsing of 14a and 24a ?
Both guessable from the crossers but I can't see why.

No one else seems to have queried these so I must be missing something.

Can't help with 14a but 24a is a reversal of a word to run into.

24a the def is swarm. When reversed it means to run into (someone)

Is the definition of 15a the first word. There is an obvious answer from my crossers but I can't make it parse and now I can't get it out of my head and think of an alternative.

I also wondered about 14a, as the answer seems too straightforward and not particularly cryptic. So maybe I'm missing something.

My thoughts exactly Julesvern. What am I missing?

15a - yes, definition is the first word. For your fairly tale, think of a Pixar film, rather than a traditional one. Then there's a letter change.
