I would hardly describe 13 as a "straight" homophone. I think it's fairly twisted!

Many thanks Chris

I've finished now. I had guessed the right word for 1ac. I just couldn't see the parsing, but I do now. I googled clumsy person, which gave me the answer and I now see the letter I have to add. I'm annoyed with myself for not getting 2d earlier as it was obvious.

My FOI was 11ac, LOI was 4d, a word I only know in connection with land. For my COD I have several contenders but in the end must go for 11ac and 3d. But I also liked 22d, 19d and 12d.

What a horrible day. We even had snow in Exeter on Thursday - an unusual event here - much panicking, buses not running etc.

Roof, a raver is a person who goes to raves. A rave would be held at a ????

Chrise, agreed, but I'm happy to see that some Brits disapprove. It's not as bad as some homophones I've run across in Guardian puzzles though.

Mostly fairly easy, but not so easy as not to be enough of a challenge to be enjoyable. Thanks, Brummie. However, there are two clues that I still don't get. I have a word that fits 17a, and that could be "ignorant", just about, but I can't otherwise parse it. Also, someone said there's an anagram indicator there, but I can't see any way of incorporating any anagram. I guess that 18a is the name of someone I've never heard of, perhaps someone on television. Any help on those two?

Hi micky
The definition for 17 is "ignorant state" rather than just "ignorant".
18 isn't very fair. Look up the names of the Spice Girls.

18 parses 3,1. If you were to add another Spice Girl, given the names of two of the originals, the new one might be…

Although I thought 18 wasn't entirely fair, it was my biggest smile!
