Hi Roof

A friend who lives in the SE was on half term with his family in South Brent. He suggested meeting up for a quick lunch on their way home. As it is near the M5 and because we really like it I suggested Topsham. Thoroughly recommend the Passage House Inn for a very decent lunch if you are in that neck of the woods.

It was "cheating" that was causing me problems.

Yes, oddly I had transposed the last two letters of 10a. I could see what needed to be done with the first two words of 7d so was looking for an odd word.

This solve was split by a trip to Murrayfield. Never quite felt like I'd broken the back of the puzzle until there were only three left to solve. LOI was 26, if I'm correct here then it's not a word I've used very often if at all. Maybe my brain is just struggling.

I like puzzles like this, where it feels like a struggle, but you make progress enough and a review shows that everything was perfectly fair and it just had you stumped.

Hi Tony,
27 parses 3,2,1 but all in reverse. It’s ‘shy’ in the coconut sense…

Thanks Jono 27 was one of those I found difficult to parse !
Mixed feelings about this prize offering from Arachne, some over complicated parsing ?
FOI of course 9a
COD 5d
LOI 27a
Tonystock@ 75 I think you mean Bamburgh Castle no Disney land castles in Northumberland.

Hi Tony fellow North Easter , never heard it called Bambi! Unusual for Alnwick to be closed at half term must have something on!
