I didn't like 4a Chrise. Didn't really like the clueing or the definition.

I have an answer for 12, but it doesn't seem to work, and still leaves me stumped on 7d (and 15a).

4a Chambers has it as “A great many or a great deal”.

As in “you’ll need ‘much’ more than that”

12a parses as 3,5 which when read as one implies solidarity amongst rogues.

brendan @9: you might be amused to know that, speed-reading the comments just now, I briefly thought you meant ‘The Archers,’ which made me think that Ambridge must have become a lot more racy in the many years since I last listened to it.

10a is an anagram, two words and a single letter…

samuipete - to add to jono, it’s also unexpectedly a plural, which briefly threw me.
