Thanks Jordan, I see 16 now. I had the same idea as you for 22, but did not think that these 3 letters could really equal money.
Despite Bradfords, I still think that’s a bit off.

Definition 9 (noun) of the three letters in Chambers is “Money (slang)”.

I enjoyed this one, even though I did not know much about the subject, and had to resort to web search for the original answers to the thematic clues that are referred to by the message. However, I have fallen one short. I knew 26d, certainly a famous example; search confirmed what I thought 1d must be, and I had to reverse engineer (or Lenurb according to a recent Guardian puzzle) 9d, although in retrospect it doesn't seem that difficult. That leaves 1a, which I still don't have. A gentle hint would be appreciated so I can put this baby to bed.

Darla, the paired word for 1a. is 'Greek god' (4), minus 'son', all in the Latin word for 'this' (3)

Thank you, mattrom. I was off track thinking it was a specific epic poem.

One of my better days. However I cannot understand the five clues where a '(normally entered) answer affected in a different way by the phrase'. This, though I have the phrase and the answers. Could some kind soul assist? I need cheering up: Arsenal, Cardiff Rugby and Holt Rugby all lost on Saturday.

ws, in all 5 cases the wordplay is missing the last 2 letters …..

Note by Admin - Post amended as I have been informed that it is “too specific about the method”. I’ve emailed Buddy about whether the information I was given is correct or not.
