Forget that. ChrisE, it’s an anagram.

I thought you’d be tempted, Chris :-)
17 is an anagram of parts.

Thanks. What's the anagram indicator?

I had Brian Eno's 17 1,2 and 4 for ages (1 is brilliant), but was beginning to suspect that 3 didn't exist, until I found it in a record shop in Minneapolis!

In that case, isn't music doing double duty? I agree it's a dodgy anagram indicator - I was thinking part of it was fodder.

Ignore that - it doesn't have to be music.

Well I finally finished. I used to like Paul, but he has got much more difficult. I finally got the PDM for 26,27 when I decided how 15d would end. Like others I didn't like 22d.

I can't fully parse 13ac,22ac and 15d.
I couldn't parse 17ac until reading some of the threads above - thank you Jono.

I was puzzled by 24ac as part of the longer clue 8,10,24. I've never heard of this phrase. 21d was a new word to me too.

My FOI was 7ac, LOI was 21d and CODs 3d (though I got this wrong at first) and 23d

Roof

With you on 13a and 15d. 22a 3 letter celebration think. ………. around 3 letter as well.

I think the 8 10 24 phrase originated in the US but I could be wrong. The implication being you're nearly there but you can't light a …………. yet.

Note by Admin - Amended at poster’s request BUT am not sure if I’ve redacted the correct words.
