This seems like a return to business as usual, if not even easier than average. No standouts. Just a quick post-midnight solve.

I enjoyed this, thanks to Everyman.
Several long anagrams which took a while, so not ultra-fast solving time.
Particularly impressed by 3, 10 and 11, which elevated the puzzle far above Everyman norm IMO.

3 and 11 co-COD.

I agree. A pleasant little romp.

Agree with the early birds. Hard to believe it's the same setter as the last few weeks. 3D is a terrific clue. Just one quibble: if you leave something till the last minute, you're bang on time, aren't you?

Good day. I agree with all the comments, very enjoyable with some clever and fun clues. I did not think it was going to be so after getting only one of the acrosses on my first run, but a few long anagrams in the downs helped.

One day I'll be very adventurous and start on the downs.

I imagine Gareth Southgate does the acrosses first, always.

CoD 11a for me

The (a)crosses will be fine if he plays Trent. Unfortunately that will leave lots of gaps in the SE corner, though.

An enjoyable and fairly swift solve, except for 26 a which I didn’t get. Now I know the answer, it has to be worthy of COD. Also liked 11a.
