Thanks will37, that is what I have. But very tangential to the definition.

Manage to finish this one, much to my own surprise!

But I still haven’t managed to parse 9dn (either the wordplay or definition, embarrassingly) or 19dn (whose definition at least seems clear). Any nudges welcome!

19D first word of clue + answer 'unsettled' would give?
9D new to me definititon of Morgan - word play synonym for doctor followed by synonym for one missing third place

I thought I was finished, but double checking all solutions showed me that I till have a problem with 35a. It looks to be a straightforward clue but I can't find the second and third letters of the answer as an abbreviation of the term in the wordplay in the BRB. Is there something I'm overlooking?

The abbreviation is in the Chambers app and the 11th edition, so either you are looking elsewhere or you need to look again.

I have Ian’s start (1 letter), abbreviation of driver as per chambers app (2 letters) followed by ‘is’…

Many thanks crates for your post. You presumed correctly - I had everything done bar the last step. I then did exactly what you suggested for the final step - and voila! Again thank you for your great nudge, even though I had managed the final step already.

Someone seems to have quickly updated the app AND installed it on my tablet while I was out walking the dog... Alternatively, I may have been blinkered and looked at the two letters in lower case with a full stop. I was sure that I looked at all options but that was in the early hours of this morning so I may have nodded off for a moment. (That explains why no-one else has complained about this.)

This seems to be a love it or hate it kind of puzzle, and I'm afraid it was not for me. The desire to maintain the obvious theme in the clues made a number of them (for me) overly wordy and not well defined; given the misprints in those definitions, this spoiled the walk through the puzzle for me. The last parts of the endgame brought a groan, and not in a good way. I'm glad others were able to find this more rewarding than I did.
