Interesting puzzle this. I found it quite tricky. All done, but there are a couple of clues I can’t quite pin down fully, if anyone could nudge me in the right direction:

35 (perhaps hint custom for leader in tribe), I know the type of clue and what’s omitted and can see the definition, and the first word of the wordplay but not the last half.

2 (short cassock OAP put on Weasley boy), again I know the type and what’s omitted, and this time the wordplay is quite clear but I just can’t quite see how the answer matches the definition in a way justified by BRB…

Mooncow, 35a. is a substitution, with a whole word substituted for the first letter of another word.
I thought the same thing about 2d. There is a reference in Collins to a "garment extending to the knees", but I can't really see it in Chambers.

Ah yes, thanks mattrom, 35 now quite clear, just hadn’t seen it the right way! I’m happy with 2, and just think the definition isn’t quite there in Chambers — a slight weakness in an otherwise very carefully-assembled puzzle.
